Hey Guys, I have the cold slow bios and it seems to work but hav'nt done any hard mods... I tried one a little while ago where I was supposed to replace a small resistor with a 1.43k vr resistor.. Well, it was so small that I could'nt make contact and broke the card.. Actually broke two cards trying it now.. I can do 1150 / 1200 using LN2 without hard mods but do you think I could get even more out of it with this. Thanks in advance!!

    Hi again!

I just did all the hard mods expect FB ocp mod. I have one lil problem, wich is that vgpu wont change when i turn the potentiometer. I use the same points for measure that like napalm's picture. I use 50ohm resistor for that mod and voltage shows 1.06v allthetime.
If someone have some toughs about that, i would preciate it!

If I'm not mistaken, once you do the CBB mod as illustrated by Kinc the Vgpu hardmod stops working.
You need to adjust the voltage via software ( like afterburner )

Ahh, thanks for that information! Havent heard about that earlier, so there is nothing to worry about Just did the mod for nothing, took like an hour to make it "good"
I was lucky, my friend is good with hardware mods. Rookie like me probaply just broke the card :/
So i gonna change bios tomorrow and do voltage ingreace via software. U have some custom bioses so what bios u prefer to use with water cool or LN2?

You don't need a BIOS to do so.
    Just different software.

    Even the worst GTX 480 will run 3D Mark Vantage at 1050MHz 1.2V-1.25V @ -50C +/-10C

Im going to change psu tomorrow to HX1000, now im using 550w cougar so that can be the problem too here.. Still dont think that it wont make over 900mhz with water. Memory clocks nicely on 2400MHz.

Thanks to Napalm for the mods too, didnt mention that earlier!!

Can that FB OCP affect on core overclocking (Only mod wich i didnt do yet) ? Tryed with HX1000 and still its no go over 880Mhz even with 1.25v -.- Temps are below 50c so thats not the issue i think..

1.25V is too much for stock/air/water and way more than what the GPU needs to run 900MHz GPU.
As long as you keep the VMEM @ stock volts & clocks you won't be hitting FB OCP, so no, 99.999% it's not the MEM OCP.

880MHz benchable with air/water should be possible at just 1.05V or so.

Yes, i know 1.25v is too much but i just tryed if that helps it clock better and it didnt, just what i tough. It run 880Mhz 1.1v (measured).
My Vmem is 1.6v, dont know if i can lower it anymore since VR wich i used is lilbit smaller than recommendet. And i have keep my memory default now. Tryed to clock and its 2400MHz benchable atleast

Edit: I updatet that Chilocp too yestarday and no change.

The single cap mod doesn't show over the gpu did you put a cap there as well like what is shown on the double cap mod?

    Running a mcw60 on a evga gtx480

Im hoping these caps will be good enough for water since they were ~$9 delivered vs ~$80 i was looking at for solid caps rated -50 to 150c nice but im thinking overkill

The card lives but im not sure that its benefited from the mod yet and since i didnt apply fresh paste to the gpu yet its running ~10c warmer than it was reaching close to 50c under load

Credit for the soldering goes to a mate who was good enough to do this for me

    edit
card seems to have similar stability maybe 5mhz more for the gpu
890mhz 1125v and 905mhz 1138v it can run these speeds for about 1min of evga oc scanner without error and i haven't seen any glitches in games or benchmarks yet
the memory can now do 2250mhz vs 2100mhz it could do beforehand but since that doesn't do jack for performance who cares
those v readings are just what the software has set i will try check it with a multimeter tomorrow to see what its really getting

    checked the v with multimeter
software 1.138v = 1.14v on the first three read points cant get to the rest
    mem = 1.578v
back when the software alowed up to 1.2v this card toped out at 1.17v software 950mhz any more v and it would shutdown

i am haveing truble working out why my gpu score in 3dm11 has droped
