    Hypers on Gulftown

Hey guys, I've been running my GT's with my new 970 which seems to have a decent IMC. However, I'm having tons of difficulty getting the sticks to pass 32M above 2050 7-7-6. I've seen tons of people running up to 2200 7-7-6 on SB.

Is this because SB's IMC is so strong or can these people do 2200 7-7-6 on Gulftown as well?

Most of the Dominator GT 2000 C8 can`t do these Frequencies,in my Opinion(under normal conditions). In the last Threads often they were GTX2 or Dominator GT 2000 C7,OCZ Blade DDR3 7-8-7-20(Rams like these) they do DDR3-2200 7-7-6-x.
I think with l-u-c-k and much "Juice" it is possible with some Dominator GT 2000CL8 to get in these heights.
    What do the "Pros" say?

I reckon it could be either but its more likely to be the ram.

it's likely your sticks cant handle it or it could be a combination of RAM, board, CPU and cooling

Agreed with the main points. My Super Talent Chromes didn't like to go much over 2050 7-7-6 on my 920 (pretty solid IMC), but that was probably the ram.

As for the SB systems running 2200+ with Hypers, those are, without a doubt, GTX2. I have yet to see an average binned set of Hypers run well on SB.

VDimm has been up and down. From 1.7V to 1.9V.

CPU isn't that cold, around -40C on phase. I'll have to keep messing around to see what I can do. I have a dominance here and I just wanted to get a grasp of these things before getting them cold.

I was being a bit gratuitous. They're on air with some high airflow fans and Vdimm was 1.95V BIOS. I think I should freeze them before giving more though. I'm hoping for 2000+ 6-6-6!

I think I need to get wazza down first (this was without wazza and maxmem), but I can't get it to work. If my OS is C: and my Pi folder is on the root (C:\Super Pi), I should do C -> D (and maybe D -> C as that completes), correct? Does D need to be a different drive, or will a separate partition work?

I don't get it. You had difficulties passing 1050MHz 7-7-6, but you can do 1010 6-7-6 no problems! These 2000 C8 are f-ing GOLD sir Can you do 950MHz 6-6-6?

there are definitely some nice kits of those 2000C8 Domis flying around.

I got also two kits, which are able to do 1000mhz 6-6-6-18. just costs some binning time or luck

As for the wazza issue if you dont want to spend time doing it manually search for OCX Spi Tweaker...easy, fast...simple just press a few buttons.

I mentioned it to Spec today, and he said use two drives... he wasn't sure about the "2nd drive" being a partition.

    Open task manager...

Look at avail ram before you start. Then start wazza with a size between 800MB and 3GB...
Check the "IV" box because even though it takes 3 times longer and is more complex it will free up the most ram. I often run 1920 MB CDT-IV (Only IV checked) twice.

Using one hard drive frees and two partitions up the most ram. (At least in my case) You only need two partitions...if SuperPi is C: then D: E: F: should be chose for your second.
You can use two drives if you want though.

I want to find out how manual wazza works....
