    ah well...

ended up leaving them in yellow (haven't perceived a difference between orange (3+4) and yellow (1+2) on this board as of yet.

have to try and get my chipset down a few c so i can bring my NB up further (maxes out at round 55c currently).
The DFI's want boot at 1600 multi and CL& or under. You have to use the 1333 multi and push the FSB to get your RAM where you want it.
I recommend spot fanning the NB/MOSFET with the ~60/70mm oem fan that comes with AMD factory HSF's. That will keep things under 50c. Replacing the TIM helps too.

Even ddr1333 divider is problematic. Gets real flaky past 1066 divider.

Pwm temps are good. Round 45c max.

Ya I need to try and rig another fan in that spot (zip tied a fan to stock nb sink).

Ya forgot to reapply tim to nb while board was out. Pain for me to get to it while installed (radiator in the way)

Would def like to juice up nb/ht to bring it up further (2.4ghz currently; 4.05ghz cpu).

If the divider was working for me that would shave off ~4c from chip and give me some more comfort room. Altho 55c isn't bad, but don't feel comfy with much more then that (with ambient changes, etc.)

I can confirm that, I'd get C1 errors on boot even before 1500MHz with the 1333 divider and 7-7-7-x. When I was able to mess with the yellow slots, I could even post at 1600 6-6-6-6-x, so the sticks shouldn't be at fault.
Just seen your posts at the ocz forums, just noticed we aren't using the same ocz PN (mine are the MIA AMD edition) but probably both are based on Elpida-BBSE ICs, so behaviour is similar.

Sorry to hear that, I've pushed my board for more than 100h of prime/linx tests in the first 3 months with case closed without ill effects.

    luckily the ram/cpu lived.

guess the board could not take having 1.41v pushed while on an x6.

on a crosshair iv now. unfortunate for the vdroop, but i hope it holds up (should be able to as it has more power).

This is an awful necro, but I forgot to leave an update some 4 years back. These boards were known to be very problematic with the 1600 divider and sub CL8, failing to boot with many 2GB sticks (as my older OCZ OCZ3P1600LVAM4GK kit, probably D9KPT that did 1333 6-6-6-24 fine) and requiring very high TRC, but it seems like some newer and larger ICs play very well with this board unlike the old stuff. The 2x4GB Ballistix Tactical 1866C9 .16FMR (D9PXX) have absolutely no problem to run at 7-8-7-24 1T 1.5V or 7-7-7-24 1T at ~1.52V (800% memtest HCI stable stressing 6144MB) with a decently low auto TRC at 31, and never failed a boot with a C1 in the last ~4 years (being ran at 1600 divider or 1333 with 240 HTT for 1600). This is on a very late 965BE C3, with either D7SDA09 (last stable for Deneb) or D7SD707 (last beta for Tuban), but even my older 0911 955BE C2 was able to do the same on the DFI with this pair of sticks for about 3 months, and other previous pair of the same model with D9PXX that did 7-7-7-24 1T at 1.5V.
