Functionality-wise these cables won't do a thing more for you than the free cable included with your PSU, but HOT DAMN they look good

For the price of a $1000 cable, you can buy a McIntosh MC162 power amp. Or you can buy a McIntosh C37 preamp. Or you can buy a Marantz SACD/DVDA player. Or any number of very good D/A converters. Or a turntable and good cartridge. Or a used Velodyne subwoofer. Or any number of loudspeakers. Or a complete headphone setup. Heck, for $2000 you can start sampling MartinLogan's legendary electrostat loudspeakers. Et cetera. The money spent on ultra-premium power cables is probably better spent, for the audiophile, trying out different equipment. Do you prefer the sound of solid-state or tubes? Do you like xxx's amp or yyy's amp? Or maybe you have a good pair of loudspeakers; what about a model up? Or a model over? Or a pair of vintage speakers. Or just about anything else.

And yes, I have a decent amount of hifi equipment.

What about those people who spends a few hundred Gs on their systems? Spending a couple hundred bucks on the cables won't be justified for them, hell, they think that they should spend a little more to balance the costs out...

Some people will just have too many money to spare, maybe it does make a difference, but maybe they don't. But let's put these stuffs aside, after all, it is their money and we are not their accountants

You mean MC1.2KW's?

Probably not a couple hundred on wires. I'd probably buy some #10 AWG copper biwire and spend a few dollars on spades and/or banana connectors.

It just annoys me when people insist that your wires should cost as much as your car is worth. You'd be better off spending money on better loudspeakers. They almost always induce much more harmonic distortion than sources, cables, power, and ontrol... combined.
