Well I just got back from Microcenter! And all I can say is that I will NEVER do business with them again!
I wanted to get a Phenom II X6 1055T as I said before, and I just couldn't resist the urge to throw on this deal upon checkout so I did. I ordered it online for web pickup. I got there, went to check out and the girl went and got her manager. Apparently they were not willing to sell me the order anymore because I had two different CPU's that were "on sale" on the order. Even though the order went through and was charged to my credit card! I see that it said limit one per household on each CPU but it says nowhere that I can't get two different CPU models.
Here is the kicker - the 1055T that I ordered - for $200, was one of the "on sale" CPU's. They said it was normally $250 and I was being sold the CPU at a loss to them. So, they basically admitted to me that they price gouge and then apply a "discount" equal to the amount needed to get back to market price and try and play it off as some gift. The 1055T has NEVER been a $250 cpu even at launch, so it's complete BS.
They told me at the counter I had to either pick just the 1055T or the $99 combo deal. Which is great because they were absolutely losing money on the combo deal but were unwilling to let me give them $200 of my own money to help offset their loss because they have shady business practices.
I told them to cancel my order and left it on the counter and they will never receive my business again. They already overcharge compared to Newegg, TigerDirect, Amazon, ZipZoomFly, etc. The only advantage they had to me is convenience - which is no longer offered apparently. I can't trust them as a respectable business. I placed an order - was charged, and then they took it back at the counter? I have to drive 40 minutes each way to go there. So I wasted an hour and a half of driving to top it all off.
