i would get the asus for a 5770 or 5830 that way u can change the voltage. i dont like xfx anymore since they use the cheapest possable pcbs and they tend to whine with their cheap non reference parts

Get either a 5770 or a 5850. The 5830 consumes about the same amount of power as the 5850 while performing worse. The 5770 is about on par as a 4890 while consuming a lot less power.

actualy the 5830 is about a 4890 the 5770 is about a 4870. once u overclock the 5830 (especialy if u can change the voltage) it will push ahead of the 5770. the 5830 dose use like 50W more power though for vary similar performance not in the 5850 range though.

550W will be enough for anything single gpu ati, if its a good 550W. if u have some cheapo coolermaster, raidmax, ultra or the like u may have problems but it should be fine with a 5770 and a cheap unit. if u have a reliable unit like a corsair, ocz, antec, ext u can do anything 5870 or lower

I would not use the PSU that comes with the case that you selected

Ultras are also shady depending on which series.

I had that 550w CM and it didnt make it a year in my wifes rig in my sig. Grab a Corsair, or Tt, or PC&C.

    I thought I read the 4890 is much better than a 5770. I thought the 5770 was on par with a 4870?

5770 is better if you plan on overclocking and playing more modern games

Good deal for $400. Half the price of the spec'd out one and will be almost identical in performance to the typical user. Better in multi threaded as its a quad vs dual.

HOW much better is the amd x2 vs the x6. when compaired to gaming.

currently i have one geforce 470gtx and a 250gts for physx. and the amd x2 555 overclocked to about 4.2ghz and a bus speed of about 300mhz.

how much more of a performance boost would i get if i got the lets say X4 or even X6 overclocked to about 4ghz

they will be about the same unless u have a game thats using more than 2 cores, and since u have a phsyX card that wont happen to often,

if u can sell the 555 for near retail it would be a nice step up
