Nice!!! I knew I saw a scene shot with no temp rise.

So what do you think the core temps really are? I wonder why sometimes RealTemp starts at it's default -x degrees temp and then shows a higher temp under load and other times remains at the default?

As i said, the core temps are not the important temps the Evap temp is.
In my screenies of Linx i am running CPU PLL at 1.2v (instead of 1.8v), that's why Real Temp stays at -6c.
When running Prime blend i have to raise it to 1.45v, Real Temp then shows 10c under full load. As the Evap is at -50c under full load,it therefore follows that the Delta is 60c.

LInX places a greater load on the processor but it is not consistent. For each run there is a period of time where there is little to no load on the CPU. Prime95 loads the CPU slightly less but the load does not change while Prime is running. With no unloaded condition to give the SS time to recover this may contribute to the higher core temps seen while running Prime.

We have had some very hot days here in the UK recently, so i decided to take a temp reading from the top of the compressor furthest away from the condenser fan.
The reading was 84c with small variations. Does that seem about correct for this size of rotary ? Ambiant in the room was 27c at the time.
I've not had any overheating probs with it, but was just curious.

Should be about normal. I personally have seen much higher temps, even overtemp shutdowns. So you are fine, as this limit often is at around 120-130°C.

You were!! Hehee..... Looks like you've been very very busy.. While I've let whatever meager overclocking skills I may have once possessed lapse and atrophy.(That is if I ever really had any in the first place..LOL) GGGGG+ WELL DONE!!! Goodness I'll pay the devil trying to play catch-up with you now. Won't I?? LOL

    Best to you always Graham.

Still overclocking and water cooling. Old stuff mostly... Still buyin' new stuff for my huge monster case though..(Project on hold til' further notice.or til' I suddenly see a fair increase in income. (Even then the gunshows do tend to grab me!!!) But really no new rig to speak of. Currently C2D E8400 on H2O Giga' p43t W/ decent pair o' ddr3 sticks stuffed in a old aluminium coolermaster preatorian case with a shrouded PA140.3 hangin' out of the side.Needs some bigger fans to keep up with this yuma heat though.. TX850. GTX460.Old yellow 1/2" tygon tubing adds some petina to the dear old thing. (As if it needed any.)Really nuthin' to call home about here at least... LOL..

Yes, years and years since i first posted this thread and at least 2 years since i last used the SS in this thread in anger lol.
Anyway, like a lot of us, i stopped using it because i lost interest in benching with the demise of Benchtec UK. I do still have the SS i built and it still works. I know that a lot of the builders are not around anymore, but for the ones that are and remember how good this SS is i have a question for you.I moved to an AM4 1700 on release with a CH6 and now have a 2700X and the same CH6, i'm very very tempted to put it under the SS for a benching spree. The question is, in your opinion is it actually worth all the hassle of insulating the socket and mobo to bench. In other words, do you feel the clocks and bench results would be worth the time and effort ?

    What he said!

Who's left from the UK phase change scene these days? I've got a half built SS in the shed that I should really do something with...but what? It's an R600a compressor out of a big old freezer and a mach 2 condenser with a chunky desuperheater coil. No evap though. I was thinking maybe build a chiller?
