    [OCTH] Rampage 3 Extreme & 980X B0 ES testing

    hey guys
last week i got the new Asus flagship board, R3E for testing. i had an ln2 virgin B0 ES so put both under LN2 in 2 sessions and got some decent scores finally. these all are new hungarian records. next step: need to save some money for a good retail Gulftown, bcoz it seems i still have to improve on those cpu clocks, but mobo is GODLIKE, very stable and fast, no annoying bugs.

    Intel Core i7 980X B0 ES -130CB
    Asus Rampage III Extreme 0402
    G.Skill F3-12800CL7D-ECO 3*2GB
    Asus EAH5970 CrossFire 900/1000
    Asus MARS (for 2D)
    Antec TPQ-1200W OC

3D results (only ORB no screen)

    2003 @ 5755MHz HT on 1.85v

    2005 @ 5925MHz HT off 1.85v

    2006 @ 5650MHz HT on 1.85v

    Vantage P @ 5298MHz HT on 1.70v

Achill3uS congratulations for the great results
I'm just finish building my 2nd Rig based LGA 1366 and I was wondering if you can help me overclocking my Core i7 920 D0 since it is the same motherboard that I've bought.

    Specs

    Motherboard: Asus Rampage III Extreme
    CPU: Intel Core i7 920 Revision D0
    Watercooling:Thermaltake Tribe VX
    RAM: G-Skill 3x2048mb ddr3 pc3-12800(1600) cl9 nq tri-channel
    VGA: Geforce GTX 285
    PSU: NOX 750 Watts

I've achieve the 4ghz but my target is to achieve 4.2ghz and I need help for that, there are some adjustments that I do not know where to tweak.I'm running the RAM at stock.

    Here the BIOS pics ------------>

PS I've posted here cause i'm not allowed to open a new thread, thanks for the understanding

    Best regards,

Arise, I feel that your NB/SB temps are a bit high :/, and your CPU idle, i would start by manually setting your cpu ratio to 21, and vcore at 1.35, and start working your bclk from there.

Though i would wait for people much more experienced than me :P

I really do love the R3E bios tho, planning to upgrade from R2E :P Maybe R3E would be the first board im going to Ln2

Them temps are the same on my mobo, mailed this to Asus too... heatsink combo is not so effective as it looks...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Ceramique, some washers and a bit of airflow made the IOH on me board go down from 65~70 idle to 40 now (default bios volts).

interesting Bart, i have no problems about the temps, all the time below 40C after i instelled the bigger NB heatsink with the stock fan connected.
