Can you set the vPLL below 1.80v on this board? You can on gigabytes and its been shown to help overclocking in certain cases but on asus board so far 1.80v has sadly been the minimum.

Billy - wow 250 bclk 32M stable, nice board & CPU. Vtt? PCI-E freq?

Mmmmm the more I look the more I think I want... Damnit! Wish pay day would hurry up and arrive!

Yeah I overclock more than most people I know... it's almost embarassing at times... But so funny when I walk into a store and they try to sell me crap stuff to go with it or alternatives and I just insult them back with superior knowledge and evidence that they're wrong - pay and leave

I get a few remarks for it here and there but I'm used to it - doesn't make me special - just means I'm different

Not the best in the world as I still only use water (albeit hardcore water ) but I got a clip in on Hexus TV @ the UK GOOC - although he caught me totally off guard and I was frustrated by our chip. Board was v-drooping like a mofo and turned out 2nd half our chip was a duffer. New chip, clocked the crap out the RAM and the soared past 5Ghz with ease

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Just got my R3E .. but have some issues.

    1. V Core LLC, seems odd on this board, normally when on P6X58D Vcore stays close to BIOS which is close to CPU-Z.

on the R3E CPU-Z is always reading higher 0.02-0.04 than everest and bios TurboV. And raises when under load. Everest, shows same as bios and responds as I would expect when 50% or 0 LLC. showing the v droop.. CPU-Z does not?? so Its frustrating. (I gues if I was smart I would take a true reading?)

    Anyone else seeing this?

One of the reasons to go for the R3E, was hopefully get above 219 BCLK which i though was the limit of the P6X58D.. now not so sure.

I have the same issue on the R3E, I can go to 217 fine, then to go beyond , I need to raise QPI volts from 1.3xx to 1.5xx v and cant get stable above 217. so is this a chip limit . (I see you gurus are getting 229.. so I guess its not the board.)

Oh.. as I am a 1366 platform Nubi.. perhaps SLI and SSD drives play a role in going above 217 bclk.. i was running pci at 104, tried up to 111 no different.

I will pull on of the cards tonight. and boot from a HD to windows.

    Appreciate any guidance .

I notice there's a 4-pin molex connector on the mobo. What's that for? Do I need to plug in for normal water cooling use? It'll look stupid and bad on cable management to have that 4-pin molex around on that part of the board.

One molex, thereīs two, and you probably donīt need to use them with regular single, CrossFireX or SLI GPU configuration only if you intend to do extreme OC with multiple GPU.

The one on middle probably supports PCIe x16_1 and x16_2 and the one at the bottom PCIe x16_3 and x16_4.

Thanks Ghostleader, that clears my doubt. It looks to me that this board would easily get us a good overclock and stable at high BCLK, just what I'm looking for

After three days of test i can say that board is awesome! Don't forget to check voltage only with a multimeter, cpu-z and everest are totally wrong because they shown vdrop on vcore instead of totally linearity with multimeter.
Rog connect feature works great and i can see 58a full load with my 980X at 4.5ghz! Finnaly the board is a performer because it can equal classified performance with less uncore speed and less voltage!

still standing by for others to test non unlocked bloomfields about max bclock, tried 231 yesterday --> memtested okay after messing with the skews, rebooted and again the first two lights lit up, so no post... maybe under a bit more cold...

Yep ROG is a good gift for overclockers...

Can you post a bios template? There are a lot of different options than what I had on the Classified and trying to sort through them is a challenge. Thanks

    @ Pinto,

May I kindly ask what memory cooler you are using? I also got the Corsair Dominator 6gb kit for my R3E but trying to locate a good looking and functional cooler. I cant stand the 3 fan ones, they usually are noisier, at least my last one was.

    Thanks in advance...

Ok thanks, I was just going to edit my post telling you never mind I figured it out. Damn I got the non GT kit and its already in transit. Oh well, maybe next time unless someone knows how to buy them separately... lol

EDIT: I think its the same cooler as the CORSAIR CMXAF2, but with nicer looking stickers on the fans themselfs. Not sure though....
EDIT2: LOL, never mind again, Corsair is selling these separately at their website.
