Rechecked the temps, IOH is about 57°C and SB 59°C idle (in bios)

Board isn't stable over 229Bclock here with my 950 (not a good CPU anyway) and Gamer's 3540 ( which does 235 Blclock )... both tested on air...

Board isn't stable over 229Bclock here with my 950 (not a good CPU anyway) and Gamer's 3540 ( which does 235 Blclock )... both tested on air...

I reseated the stock one and it runs 70 at 3.60

then the one with the fan is 62..
Dang, I hate to rma it..No telling how long that will be plus I will do a full water block as soon as they have one.....

What´s up with this 531 bios? What´s the different compare to the 0402?

we got the bios at the lates Awardfabrik Overclock Mesiterschaft... to be honest I never tried 0402 as the board was brand new at the event and all the german Overclockers ( SOF, Stummerwinter and co) all had better results on this 531 mate. So we flashed it on first boot... too bad our sample GT is so .... (kind find the exact correct words lol)

They told us the 0402 is a bit buggy under LN2 action... I really hope Asus can get the Bclock up for the non extreme users... 227-229 ain't gonna cut it ( and that's with a lot of fidling around )

Thanks for the info, I quess Asus have to work hard because there are some high expectations on this board.

I agree, 227-229 is nothing special, it´s still early days though, so we have to wait and see what newer bios can do.

Yeah might try under cold,but it's not good enough if this Xeon 3540 did 235 on air on the Classie... maybe the limitation is me ?

Luckily the retail price is normal for an enthousiast board, you can get it for around 320 euro's... not the 380-400 euro's we were told at CeBIT

Got my REIII on Friday and will set it up today. Will be replacing my 760 Classified so it will be interesting to see how they compare. My Classified is rock solid so the bar is pretty high for the REIII. I have a full EK waterblock on the 760 and am worried about my MB temps until I am able to get the same for the REIII.

Tempted by this board after Gigabytes unfairness... But I'm an Asus hater since all the hastle I had with their cards... Had a rampage extreme back on 775 and loved it to bits so maybe... maybe it's calling my name? wish someone would hurry up and get it in stock in the UK

Still waiting on my move also. As all seeing 230 max block and that is 10bclk more then my r2e. Not too bad but wished it was better, but still in lower end bios releases so hopefully it would pick up later on. Sure wished my ek full nb/sb water block would bolt up to it as that would help out some. I will wait to see more results and thanks for the ones that has posted information from their results.

What CPU settings did you use to have it boot at 230blck? Can you fill out a template?

I'll take some piccies today, need to install win7 anyway ( will try to install it with eg 227 Bclock, 229 bclock was memtest error free at AOCM)
