Nooo... It's just about right for winter, no additional heating needed.

    Slot? You mean fan header?
You can plug a thermal sensor to OPT_TEMP1 and set fan speed in BIOS depending on temperature measured. Same goes for 2 and 3. Nice feature, I'm using it for VRM and NB.
Thank You my friend for this and your BIOS template, I'll give her a whirl.

What php code did you use to post your template?

So everyone knows... In case it wasn't common knowledge.

QPI PLL is linked to the CPU PLL setting in BIOS on the R3E.

I asked how it was controlled to ASUS techsupport and that's the answer I got.

I've asked them for a table of values showing what QPI PLL voltage is set per different CPU PLL settings.

It seems 1.89v CPU PLL is probably between 1.14 and 1.16v QPI PLL. Raising my CPU PLL to this value gives me about the same stability/voltage settings that I got on my friend's x58a-ud3r with my chip.

Ok, but what we do if the CPU likes lower CPU PLL (like my W3520). It will be better if these two values are separated but only Asus knows whether, how and when it will be.

    Any fixes ?
I give up using REX3 for 24/7 PC.
Same as you, I faced sleep mode problem.
I tested XP/Vista/7, all os can not accept sleep mode.
So I change my 24/7 PC mobo to X58A-UD7 rev2.
UD7 does not have any problem with sleep mode.

For X-Cool OC, REX3 is marvelous performance!!
For 24/7 daily use PC, REX3 is wholly sh*t!!

borntowin: it is me on ASUS forum causing hell to find out what QPI PLL setting is. Thank you for linking me to my own post! ;D

    Hi guys,
I'm still waiting for ASUS to get back to me for the table of values.

I do suspect that it is a repeating table. It would explain why some people can use CPU PLL as low as 1.36, and others use around 1.5... etc...

It also means that you should not adjust CPU PLL drastically like 1.36v and 1.5v because you have no idea what QPI PLL is set!!! Maybe dangerously high!!!

I will post here ASAP when ASUS gets back to me.

Sleep mode works perfectly here with Bios 0704, will video it for the non believers (link below)... Either it doesn't work with newer OC biosses or some bios setting is wrong... Been using this platform for GPU testing for a round up and Bad Company 2 gaming, don't get what you guys don't like about it... pretty solid to me...

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    Leeghoofd...thanks for the video man
I will try the 0704 bios as you say, but had the issue on 2 seperate boards with 0402; 1005 and 1102 bios revisions.
Maybe it's to do with the cpu batch or something, an i7 920. Love the 'board anyway.
Could you possibly post up your bios settings, just so we can see if ours are any different.
    Much appreciated.

When it went 'final' on ASUS's site, I installed it.
It CAUSED CPU temp bug on my i7 930. 1005 does not have the problem.

Also, my overclock became unstable on 1102. I rolled back to 1005, exact same settings it is 11 hours LinX stable. I did clear my BIOS on 1102 and reset settings manually, it still had the problem.

    1102 is a terrible BIOS.

    34c vs 44c.
