    Im having a problem here..

    I just got a 12gb set of patriot viper 2000mhz 9-11-9-27, and Im running my w3520 @ 4.4ghz.

I have to run ram @ 2100mhz and Nb/uncore at 4200mhz, and this is not stable.. 3d11 crashes etc.

    How can I get Nb/uncore frequency stable this high? I think the voltages Im running are allready fairly high;

    cpu vcore 1.41v
    cpu pll 1.84v
    qpi/dram 1.47v
    ioh 1.34v

    cpu and r3e is watercooled..

Im not so good with x58, any pros can help? =D

Uncore 4200mhz on bloomfield and 12gb will require _very_ high qpi voltage. 1.55v+.

For 4000mhz uncore on all 6 of my bloomfields, with my 12gb 9-10-9-27-1T 2000mhz mushkin kit, I needed 1.4875v QPI.

1.41v core also seems low for 4.4ghz on bloomfield.

NB voltage doesn't do much... you won't need more than 1.2v.

Just back down the frequency and live with lower voltages and maybe a 1-2% performance loss... +4000 uncore is not easy to stabilise at, you probably will need far lower temps to run these speeds daily. Why not use the 1600 divider with tighter timings. For benching you might loose some points, for daily performance it might not even be noticeable...

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

    Hey guys,

Is there any way to enable "offset" voltage overclocking on the R3E? I want to overclock by RATIO only to get my 980X at around 3.6ghz, but without any voltage increases so I can enable Speedstep to auto raise and undervolt the chip in idle.

That's very good - my last 920 D0 needed at least 1.5v for that with my P6X58D-E, and my current 920 D0 I'm not so sure about.

This is my first Bloomfield on the R3E and (shamefully) I've been running it at stock because I'm getting absolutely NOWHERE even with a moderate overclock of 4GHz... it's just not co-operating. When I have more time and patience I'll go back to 191x21 but for now I have more important things to do with my time.

I sold the 990X again, but at least this time I had three months before I accepted it was totally wasted on me. 12 threads at 4.5GHz for youtube? LOL.

    Hi

Does anybody know whether anyone has tried to mod the latest bios for R3E to Intel RAID ROM 11 for SATA/RAID? or is this board not compatible with Intel version 11 ROM?

oh you lucky with your 920 , i got cheery on top 920 that required 1.75v vtt

if you used 6 of your bloomfields on same board then thats means high vtt needed is related to the board or ram?

All my gulftowns required lower voltage for the same kit. Also, with lesser kits, I didn't need 1.4875v. Some chips needed slightly less, some needed slightly more... 1.4875v was just what the chip that I kept the longest needed.

you forgot : Board / bios / RAM /RAM settings and CPU...

I had 3 bloomfields on the R3E my i7 950 did 4000 uncore at 1.37, 930 never even got it stable with 1.5 and the 920 needed looser timings on the rams (C8 iso C7 ) to stabilise 4000 at 1.45

what about the QPI link frequencies of 4000mhz. does anyone tried ? cant run successfully on my system. is it related to cpu, board, or ram......

qpi frequency is vtt and vnb. 1.2v vnb should get you there. you have to have enough vtt to stabilize your uncore.

did tried north bridge volts up to 1.4 and vtt to 1.6v and all other setting to relax just to see if it can boot with 4000 qpi frequencies but to no avail. this 920 refuses to cooperate. does any one tried 4000 qpi frequencies with bloomfield????????????

i've seen two things make that happen.
    1. your realtek sound died. Only way to fix is RMA for a new board.
    2. one of your usb devices isn't playing nice. unplug all your usb stuff except your keyboard and mouse.

    I have 0003 on BIOS1 and 1502 on BIOS2.
They are the two best BIOS's by far for the R3E.

Are you referring to Uncore or QPI Link Frequency? 4000 means you're going for 8000MHz QPI Frequency correct? Then it's not your chip, it's your motherboard. Most boards struggle getting to or close to 8.0 GT/s.

Hey guys i have a question. I have just inherited a Black Edition R3 board. I set it up outside the case and put in my Xeon 3570. The thing is when I go to boot it up, it goes straight to the FF code. It doesn't go through any other codes, just straight to FF only. I took out the CPU and checked all the pins with a magnifying glass and they appear to all be fine without any bent ones. I reseated the CPU and same thing again. I took out the battery for half an hour and also cleared the bios, but no difference. I also pressed down on the bios chips to make sure they hadn't come loose. Also i removed all sricks of ram and tried one at a time, but no difference. Also tried a different PSU and still the same.

So if anyone else has another idea i could try...

I`m not to familiar with the old biosses, what version you`re running?
Have the latest, and it`s running fine with a W3680. X990 also working fine.
Have you tried a different core?
