[BenchBros] first serious Gulftown Benching - 980X Retail meets GTX 480 and Lightning

    Hey guys,

this weekend it was a pleasure to be on the 3rd AOCM in Minfeld Germany.
A lot of good Overclockers where there and I think a lot of Great scores comes from this Event.

Thanks to the hole AF espacilly No_Name for this Great Event

    Here are our Scores:

    Rig:

Intel Core i7-980X Retail (3003B320) -118° CBB and -143° CB
    EVGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI
    CORSAIR DOMINATOR-GTX2 3x2GB 2250C8
MSI GeForce GTX 480 on LN2
MSI Radeon HD5870 Lightning on LN2
MSI Radeon HD5770 Hawk on Air
CORSAIR TX950W Powersupply 78A Single Rail 12V FTW!

Cooling by Otterauge Extreme CPU-Pot (4.4 Kg) and Besi's variable GPU-Pot's

First time we spend to get a better feeling for the CPU.
For CPU testing we used a MSI Hawk to see max. Clocks AM3 and 05

not that bad for such a little bastard!

After finding CPU's max Clocks we switch to the serious GFX Cards.
    For beginning the MSI Lightning.

this card is nice to handle caz it haves no Coldbug after a little BIOS Modification. but after arround 1 - 2 hours of Benchning we got problems caused from the PCIe Slot. So put card out and defreeze the PCIe Slot... then you can bench more.

there is no way to get more out of this card caz more than 1.5Vgpu doesn't effects in any higher Clocks.

And with this two scores the Lightning was done and we switch to the MSI GeForce GTX 480 on LN2.

Better we don't talk about benching this GTX 480 caz every time if the Temp is under -80° the card don't switches from 2D to 3D ... but for 1050 @ only 1.138V you need -85° so it was a long journey to achive this.

3DMark05 was only a short part of our AOCM plan caz we know that we have not realy a chance against other CPUs...

about that little 06 run we are a little bit confused caz CPU-Test passed on 6G (not bad I think) but CPU-Score is realy low compared to some other results in hwbot.

This 6G at 06 shows us what we think the hole AOCM... our CPU is not limited by the clocks it self, it is limited by any kind of IMC limiting
but with lower uncore and memory we can't go above the clocks what you see here so we choose a good combination to clock every part of the system to its maximum.

It was realy nice to be on the AOCM, next step is to find another retail Gulftown hope to see all you guys soon! Keep pushing
