Gigabyte SOC 5870's and Campus Party Madrid 2010

    Hi all!

Overclockers around Europe was invited to Campus Party 2010, which was held in Madrid, Spain 14-18.4.2010.

Our intention was to test my (2) Gigabyte SOC 5870 cards properly, now when LN2 was not a problem. Cards were ok. Both over 1400MHz+ and no coldbug. Other card is still not fully tested. Voltages used on VGA's were 1.5Vgpu and 1,72Vmem. Vmem really helps with the cold and these cards started to overclock a bit better than before.

There was some performance / efficiency issues, which were not fully clear. 10.3 driver in single run and 10.4 beta in dual. 10.4 seemed to be quite bad in vantage, but we managed to push cards high enough to get the dual GPU record.

Thanks for invitation and support Gigabyte

    Here is the setup used:

    Intel Core i7 980X (B1 ES, A0 ES)
    Gigabyte X58-UD7
    Ggiabyte 5870 SOC edition (ES) x 2 (1440/1325 single / 1400/1325 dual)
    Kingston 2133MHz CL888 memory
SF3D OC LN2 pot - Inflection point, Final product

    elmor, Massman, me

After event this same team did Gigabyte roadtrip back to home, cause airplanes can not fly here. For me, it took nearly 50 hours and one long ferry to get home. 4000Km is enough in ~2 days.

I think it is clear without too much stories, that it was great event and we did also laugh a bit now and then
