    Digital Thermometers - UEI DT200

I'm just starting out with subzero benching. I am looking for a good cheap digital thermometer for LN2 use.

I can get a second hand UEI DT200 but I have read a few negative things regarding them. They appear to have a slow update time regarding temperature change (specs say 0.5 - 2.0s) - what is this like? Does it make benching on LN2 hard? Are they a good unit despite their age?

Lastly, what should I pay for a second hand UEI DT200 with 2 probes?

Just snag one from ebay. I've bought 2 Uei Apollo 302's brand new and they work very well for our application. If you can find an old Fluke 52II that would be another option. The 302 & the 52 II allow for 2 probes. 301, etc. for one. There is also another brand, Voltcraft and I know a couple guys with them as well. Cheaper but work well.

Don't buy a DT150/DT200. DT302 is where it is at for sure. Very fast response time and accurate to boot.

DT302 rocks, Voltcraft K102 is not bad if budget is a bit tighter. Better to buy a good one once, youll enjoy it for years.
