Hi
I got my eVGA GTX470 SC today and I have overclocked it to 725core. The voltage is 1.00v and temp is 80c with eVGA oc scanner and 65-70c in games. I wonder how high voltage and temp is safe. Is it safe over 90c ? And is 1.08v safe for the card as long as the temp is safe ?
/wekk
nice temp!
whats ur clocks?
Hey Fiskov u started this ......... will u do the same thing as u did to ur GTX280
no offence
Is 1.087v safe for the gtx470, as long as temp is under control ?

Hi guys
I have one gtx 480 in my HAF 932 and i would know several thing please :
Actually my screen resolution is at max 1920*1080.
According to you is that usefull to make a SLI ?
After 2h benchmark crysis my gpu is at max 91° and the fan turn at max 68%
According to you no worries to make a SLI with that temp ?
Another thing :
I want (maybe) try 3Dvision, someone has try 3dvision with one 480 ? Is that game in 3d vision turn very well with one 480 ? And if you are try 3dvision with one 480 what is the resolution have you try ?
Thanks by advance for your answer and sorry for my very bad english
I hope you can understand me.

well the max temp for the GPU is 105c according to Nvidia, adding a second GPU underneath it will rise the temp of the first card for sure. So there is two solution for this....
1- Put the fan speed on both cards higher and maybe even replace the tim for better one and endure the loud fan noise and you could hope to get a temp at around 90 on full load for both cards and this will also depends on how far aparts are the cards itself.
2- Go watercooled and and OC them and never care about any of the above
Regards
Well so far i am very happy with my GTX 480. Play games for 3 to 4 hours and my temp never exceeds 76 degrees and fan goes to 44%. Running all stock and auto. ( measured with GPUZ)
Hi
I got my fan curve at 45C->50% fan/ 80C->90% fan and after 10 min on MSI Kombustor my temp is at max 69 ° and my fan turn at max 77 %.
What do you think ? It's pretty good isn't it ? No worries ?

I think that is damn good. Not close to what initial reports indicated. What are you using to set your fan curve

How does the stock cooler hold up on these cards?
I have heard rumours some cards hit more than 100C after only 10 minutes of Furmark!
John
how much better is a 470 vs dual 250gts

Its not far off from the truth, at least with a 470. However, I find that the fan doesnt spin up enough when the card needs cooling (it never goes past like..65% speed for me), even when the card reaches the 90c zone. I set the cards fan speed to about 70% for gaming and the temps don't go past 82c for me.
Its a very hot card though
So guys do you advice to me to make a SLI in order to play @ 1920*1080 ? Maybe it's useless ?

Here is a comparison for you: GTX480 is double the power of GTX280 which is almost the double the power of 8800GTS512 (G92 core - same sa GTS250).
Double 8800GTS compared to single GTX280
Double GTX280 compared to single GTX480 *(CPU multi and vCore lowered cause of CxE enabled, it was run @ 4410MHz)
So if GTX470 is just under 480 you get the picture.
Repeat after me: SLI is NOT useless! I'm SLI addicted since NV 6800GS (then 7800GTX, 8800GTS320, 8800GTS512, GTX280)
I have one GTX480 for now, but I'm buying second as soon as I get the next paycheck, (or the one after that, it costs a lot )
OK, now I'll go visit a shrink.

Does anyone recommend me to get physx card for GTX480?
If so, which one?
