Hey guys! I would like to say thanks aswell to everyone that has joined! Once you catch the crunching bug there is no cure! haha
On a serious note, The thing I love about Disbributed computing is you SEE your impact, whether large or small. Compare that to a major charity where you donate x amount of dollars and thats that... Not that that doesn't go to use, but I like how directly involved DC is. Plus... I guess the community here is OK ... haha. You'll find some of the most big hearted genuine people here, well execpt Dave

Seriously though if there is anything you guys need feel free to ask, there is always someone willing to lend a hand! If I can do anything at all to help anyone get started let me know!

Cheers guys! on ward and upward!

Got the HTPC (undervolted i3@3.8) loaded up with the x64 version today.

i7 860 chip will be here tomorrow from Amazon but the board hasn't shown up yet.
Should have that box together and at least roughly tuned well before the big push though.
    Currently messing with:
    Intel DP55SB Sharpsberg
    i7-860 (stock) under a Zalman CNPS-8700NT cooler
    4x4GB Corsair Vengence @ 1600
XFX Radeon 5850 Black Edition (765, 1125 stock)
Mushkin Chronos DX 240GB and 1.5 TB WD Black
Powered by a Seasonic X-650 and stuffed into a Silverstone GD05 case

Just joined up, I've been a cruncher since the middle of 2009 but never been on a team, just a badge hunter on WCG. Most of my badges are blue now, so I've been looking for something extra to keep it interesting. I don't have anything wild or extreme just a lot of old stuff ranging from a Pentium2 to an HP Phenom X4, nothing is overclocked. Glad to join your efforts. My WCG ranking stats as of today were: Total run time #1074 - Points generated #1442 - Results returned #1570 I've been readiing the forum lately as I want to build a more state of the art cruncher, all these old P4HT's are getting way to expensive to run for the points they generate. Nice to be here and glad to add my stuff to the pile, maybe someday I'll get some pie!

Thanks for joining. Any and all help is appreciated. Many of the long-term members began crunching with just one rig and then added more later.

258 new members this week. We need all the help we can get to break 10 million points/day. We're getting very close.

As the graph shows, the new members have made a big difference and we appreciate your contributions.

    hi all

i also joined WCG when i got the mail, and now my machines are all crunching.
    i have
    a 4.2ghz i7-920 main (+2 gtx 285 on gpugrid) @ 60 degree
    a 3.6ghz i7-920 HTPC @ 80 degree
    a 2.67ghz i7-620 laptop @ 67 degree
    a 1.5 T5250 (dual core) laptop @ 75 degree

all running the 6.10.43 x64 version. it is right that its alot faster than the 6.2.xx thats on the wcg homepage.. because atleast the cpu benchmark numbers are almost double.

Points Generated (Rank) 154,262 (#122,670) since i joined.

and you guys are right, its quite addictive this "game"
