I'm sure the Watercooling community and 3oh6 will have something to say about the integrated WC implementation...
I really do think Gigabyte is actively trying to insulate the onboard cooling against the water block...
Why are they still not letting people pick what barbs to use!!!!

They should have skipped IDE connector alltogether to make it more clean and with 10 SATA I think that's a good excuse to not have to include IDE. At least they've learnt from the stupid mistake of placing a PCI-E 1x slot next to the NB block/heatsink that is practically unusable on the previous boards. Also I wish they change the color scheme for next generation, the blue with white stripes looks good on a Viper but not on a motherboard IMO.

let me say it again.....that is NOT the final cooler design so please reserve judgement for the real thing....since when is jody the spokesman for the watercooling community eeek...is he branching out heheheh
because it's safer to provide the integrated version....100% leakproof heh but that's worth suggesting anyways i think cheers
what about old farts that still like their IDE like me ....it fits on the board, it had a function still believe it or not hehe and really there is no need to palm it off yet.

fair enough. Does he actually go through some suggestions and improvements or? do you have some links you can send me i'll read over it.

Is 1/2 not now the standard for barbs not 3/8? The block that comes with these boards destroyed all the flow in my system last time I used one

you need to look into how flow affects your performance. Please search the forum for Cathar's latest testing on diameter of tubing and what it does for performance and you will see that having 3/8" and 1/2" tubing in todays systems makes no difference at all or that it's insignificant at best

Very interesting times lay ahead

I wonder if Gigabyte will make a UD9 for AMD's 890FX as well, probably not, but who knows.

And I just upgraded from an IDE to a Sata DVD-RW drive after ordering my new board.
I have no more need for IDE or Floppy drives anymore, but if you go with Gigabyte, at least you can keep and IDE and Floppy drive.

Some people still use IDE because SATA HDDs get messed up when you push the PCIe clocks. In reality, this board will probably see a lot of use on the bench, so if you are really pushing the PCIe clocks then you need an IDE HDD. On midrange boards, yes, there is no need for IDE. But on the high-end boards (Classified, RIIIE, etc.) IDE still has some use.
