    Xfx 5870

    Anyone know if this card's voltage is adjustable with Afterburner?

    Um if that is the vanilla version then YES it is....

    I have one and it responds very well to 1.2v

    Edit:

    That looks like the newer (cheaper) non reference version so ..... no software voltage control..... hardmod time!!!

    black PCB, but power out the rear, and fan in the center points to a V2 card, and no soft mod voltage control.

    G skill perfect storm RAM s 6gb, 2,176 Mhz CAS 8

    CPU loop, EK supreme HF, EK mobo block, 500MM bitspower res, 2 DDC 3.25's on XSPC top, 2 XSPC RX 360's, 1 XSPC RX 480, GPU loop, EK water blocks, with nickel backs, 2 swiftech mcr 320's, 500MM bitspower res, ddc 3.25, XSPC top all with 1850 RPM gentle typhoons
    plus many other rigs.

    Wouldn't touch that card. Not talkin only about voltage btw. Guns I thought you had 4 cold reference 5870's anyway!!?

    Sold them off to upgrade to Lightnings, which turned out to be quite disappointing.

    Anyone tried this one?

    My 3 clock much worse than the reference models on air, and the 1 that I tried on LN2 was a dud also. I've heard of other benchers having issues on LN2 as well. It seems there are some pretty complex v-mods necessary to get them up to speed, and my soldering skills are pretty weak.
