    Upcoming 890FX Motherboards - Due April 26th

I'll add more to the thread as I find them.

    Asrock 890FX Deluxe3

    Asus Crosshair Formula IV

    Asus Crosshair IV Extreme

    Biostar TA890 FXE
Seen above, the upcoming board features 6 phase PWM and supports Athlon II or Phenom II CPUs with a TDP of up to 140W, and has a black PCB, a relatively beefy cooling system, four DDR3-1800 memory slots, the BIO-unlocKING technology for unlocking processor cores, and four PCI-Express x16 slots for CrossFireX setups.

The TA890FXE includes one eSATA and five SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, a FireWire connector, a debug LED, and nothing but solid capacitors.
    Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5

    Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD7

    MSI 890FX-GD70

They all look nice . altough the NB cooler on the asus boards is so close to the first pci-X16 slot (and thus the videocard) .. it frightens me

All those boards look nice, I'm really digging the Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD7 the most. Can't wait to get my hands on one with a 1090T.

The ASRock active cooling is that thing that i realy dont like...
But i can remouve it if i dont need it (not going to OC over 1.6V).

What i realy like is that two SATA3 connectors by the end of the board, looks like a nice feature for
RAID0/1 field in external mode. Nice one...

The UD7 look like it could support wather cooling for the NB/SB (the midle of the heatsink looks like it could be connected).

But GA faild with 7 segment displays, two of them, so wide spread? I dont like that, perfer it like on ASRock or Biostar.

Agreed I have not had much luck with those type of fans. Biostars cooling looks heavy duty, and I love biostar but man I hate those colors.....

I don't understand why any board still needs a floppy header these days. So i'm pretty confused as to why the gigabyte appears to have x2 1x to the right of the sata ports and a second on the side next to the pci slot. Floppy raid ?

that is an old pic of the msi board, there is newer pics around amd forum. it is funny because when that pic first came up everyone gave them a hard time for the pcie slots and the new pics actually show they got rid of one of the pcie slots in favor of pcie1x slot. then giga shows off their flagship board & it has 6 pcie slots but noone really give them a hard time about it

also suprised asrock is only one w/ active cooling on fets - they seem to be putting out some nice boards. liking most all the color schemes compared to past boards too

I think the ASRock picture is beta one, and/or fake...
    http://www.asrock.com/mb/photo/890GX...3(Enlarge).jpg

Look at the heatsink, it says ASRock...

If the FX is real, then the GX would have 890GX Extreme3 on the heatsink...

And the USB ports... They say there will be 12/14 connectors, and i can see ony 10 (6 at back), 4 on board...

My preference is the Asus Crosshair Formula IV but I reckon it's going to cost around £180 here in the UK?

I would not be at all surprised if the Biostar is £50 ($75) cheaper in the UK, here is hoping.

    Hack the planet!

I hope this is "beta/fake", because this is the first ASRock board i dont like...

    1. 890GX Ex3 and the mATX 890GX Pro have 14 USB total. This one nas 10.
    2. The GX Ex3 and Pro have evolved: no IDE and no Floppy. Why to return that in FX? No place for SATA/USB ports then anyway...
    3. On the GX Ex3 there are 5 fan connectors: 2x4pin and 3x3pin, and they all can be controled in BIOS. The FX show 5 of them too, but one allready used,
and at stupid places, whare the GX is great at tactic positioning of the fan connectors...

Lets hope this board is not in production...

    EDIT:
    4. ASRock regulary uses this:

    Not this:

This kind of connector ASRock uses ond Low End boards like N68-S etc...

I've always liked the msi boards for am2+/AM3. This 890 installment looks solid. I hope the bios is as solid as it is on my k9a2 plat.

Btw, is this the "new" pic of the MSI 890fx?

That new fet design is freakin' ugly!

I'm really digging the UD7. Liquid cooling w/ an x6 seems to be the way to go and this board will support it. I was hoping it would have 10 total sata, but 8 is good enough. Kill the floppy and did ANYONE notice the power/reset button position? Are they nuts? My fat fingers will never reach those!
    You must [not] advance.
