if you need cpus give palm54@charter.net a mail, and tell him you come from here, and i sent you. he should sell you opteron 8347 for 27.50$ each.

e-cyclepro3 has some lots of cheap graphics, i just won 31 random videocards for 32$.

Yea I guess I'll pull the trigger on ECC ram tonight. 4*1gb

I'll take a look at what e-cyclepro3 is when I come back from my gf's.

What a bunch of buggers, they only ship within the USA.. They had nice cheap 1u and 2u servers

I would buy a kick ass psu. reasons? PSU īs rarely need to be upgraded and can always be of some use ( power additional hddīs , dvd, VGA, etc).

how about a compliant corsair HX?

Any idea of a board to make 2 of our boards fit?

you have even been able to digg into the manufacturer of that PSU you are crazy like me :P

No you're not crazy, he did talk about 1gb sticks of 667mhz being 18.25 a pop, but just after somebody mentionned 2gb sticks being available for 20-22$.. That's why I'm wondering about the deal

I'm pretty sure it's Duh that will be buying the boards. I can't tell though if he wants to take charge for all the stuff we bulk order.

Some other bro (sorry it's late, can't remember) took charge of the cpu's (somebody already ordered his) but I'm not sure we were going to group buy the cpu's.

the psu's, we're not set on that.

The memory, we're not quite set on that too even though somebody got us a rebate, but maybe there is a better deal out there.

the heatsink, not set on that too.

In retrospection, I bed he'd love help

its a arima quad socket f board, its not standard atx or anything, so psu is "special" but can be wired to work with normal psu's, it takes 4 opteron 83** cpu's, there is an option for the 1.9ghz version called 8347 for 27.50$ each. ram need to be ecc reg ddr2 at around 667mhz. dont know if the 400 mhz will work, jcool ?
    hope that helped you it.

yeah, we need to work on this subject. I am in the arse of the world. I guess we should create an account and that someone like MM has only access to it. Once everyone has sent the dough then the seller should be payed

please leave feedback on this matter

very good summary ( excellent IMHO) for such a long thread

    --------------------------------
    How about dividing tasks?

    IE:
    mobo stuff: me
    psu options and pricings :
    casing: eddieate
    cpus: pawmadsen
    memory :metalop1g
someone to help joining the dough : we could ask MM
someone to test the boards when they arrive:shoota
someone to investigate shipping rates to userīs countries ( parcels departing from the US to the world ):
someone to be the heatsink and backplate specialist:

this is just figurative ( it takes no commitment to the mentioned users, just depicts an idea to make things work in a more organized & efficient manner)

My idea is to help organize this buy ( in which I am only saving 25 bucks from what I was quoted ) BUT : NOT to TOUCH MONEY that does not belong me

i don't mind looking for power supplys but i need people's input. not everyone will want to mess around with wiring a standard psu. someone earlier mentioned they found the exact psu's for this board, maybe some guys would like those?

personally i don't want to buy anything until i have the board.

i think if we distributed the boards first everyone would jump on board much faster. what do you guys think about that?

I doubt the seller would be sending the mobos to the multiple places ( at least not with for a price we would like)

Count me in for one. Sounds pretty cool and cheap. Maybe we can do another buy later on...make this a semi-annual ritual or something.

Can someone post a model number for the board. It seems that the Arima TW site is down.

its not on their site, its an OEM board, a quad socket is just pr0n.

and 4 x quad socket is even more pr0n, thats the amount i am buying.
