    Team ODOC strikes

    Team ODOC;
    Oliver, THC, M.Beier

    Last month, P55 Challenge for our region had its qualification round, this lead us to get some liquid nitrogen... Unfortunately we started very late.... Last day in fact..... 230L....
    (we won)

    So here is a bit of what we came up with!!!

    Setup1;
    Intel i7-980X B0
    Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7
    Corsair Dominator GTX2
    Corsair TX950

    First thing to understand, first time you have a gulftown, first boot, 1 hour 15 min isnt an aweful lot to get results Especially not when you have to install XP after win7 is done..

    Competition;
    Intel Burn
    SPI 1M

    SPI 1M:

    Intel Burn is really strange.... Look at the time and the settings... Something off??? THE BENCHMARK!!! Its crap, that config would suck in all other benches...

    We submitted, and continued testing.... Starting facing problems with OCP....
    No more results that night....

    OCP mod was made.... Super BIOS applied, and we started again....

    Lets start off by the 32M....
    Lets say; 4ghz uncore is common, according to Ryba, 200mhz equals 1 sec... That leaves 6 sec improvement
    No SPI tweaker or MAXMEM, another 5 sec....
    Once we get cores disabled, 2 more sec.... Summed up; 13 sec headroom for improvement...
    - Yet we still quite happy with the result (considering circumstances)

    The other 3D's we went through, atleast some of them
    Yes yes, we enjoyed our beloved old graphic cards while waiting for the real deal; HD5870's : - )

    We will do more soon, this is my 2 old HD4870X2 - We will use 8800GTS & GTX295 for the leftovers of the LN2

    Great results considering the time constraints

    But, I'm confused

    www.overclocking.gigabyte.de also a thread about it xtreme competitions, all platforms were allowed for qualification.... Our competitor used same board for burn, and then P55A-UD6 + i5-670 for 1M...

    At the live event next weekend, only P55 allowed

    Your Burntest seems ok for 64b and HT disabled. To compare settings, this is ours: screenshot.

    Makes perfect good sense
    Seems you found the same tweak, or accidently made it.... As I stated; very weird benchmark....
    Nanok & Noxon (who just got top20 on hwbot), they had 67 sec burn, at around same freq as we got 59,34....

    But hey - we will see in Hamburg, one thing is certain, there will be beer

    Me and ME4ME had a 102s result in Burn Test at 5.1GHz or so. Compared it to others after we ran out of LN2, so I did a 69s or something on air later, turned out that was enough to qualify. The benchmark is quite weird and we didn't feel like pouring our hearts and souls into it either.

    nono, 1 hour 15, win7 was installed

    We just had to do a fast XP install in that time, doesnt take long.... Finding max is another matter though.

    Score was calculated;
    SPI+Burn/10
    0.5 sec in SPI is ALOT - we didnt have time for the H57M-USB3 and clarkdale.... While 5 sec Intel Burn isnt that much.... Burn was tested on Lynnfield in advance.....

    ANYHOW; Looking forward to the weekend, dispite it means the CPU goes away
    Wont have GT again for a long time I fear
