It will all depend in which gun case they will be shipped, the glock version could be around 1000$ while the m16 or the fm2000 could be more around 1500$

also dumo, i already pointed out that review in my previous post, your link is to the forum of the review site i posted.

Will something like eyefinity be possible with the GTX 480's in the near future?

3840x1024 is the res I'm gaming with. With a heafty OC on the card and CPU (specs in sig). It drives my four 22" monitors beautifully with a proper OC.

Isn't that already possible? Not sure, maybe it required a driver update for it, but they definitely showcased it. You will need to use SLI to be able to drive 3 monitors, though. 1 card can't be connected to 3 screens.

Well, I will definitely be using crossfire X or SLI so either way I will be able to do it, that's good....

Tri-fire and Eyefinity do not work. FPS go into the ter. like only 12-15FPS in BFBC2. They need to fix it. Cross fire and quad fire work though.

i thought that when it was demoed they had 3 monitors from 2 dvi and 1 hdmi from 1 card, and the stats on the card says it can do 3 monitors for the 470/480

if u looked at anything about trifire what tells u that its a good idea, its only real use is 3d mark as it gets bad minimum fps and is rather glitch as it uses 3x AFR instead of 2xafr with 2x multi gpu frame render as quad gpu dose

Absolutely it does! 2560x1600 = 4,080,000 and 3840x1024 is only 3,932, 160. The difference is 147,840 so it could be considered pretty close. If I were to turn it up to 3840x1280 this start to get pretty sluggish. But hey that's 4,915,200 pixels, or 835,200 more than 2560x1600. At that high of a res I'd recommend using a dual GPU solution. What I would like to shed some light on is that with a heavy OC, a single (watercooled?) 5870 can run 2560x1600 pretty nicely.

So there are many options none of which are really bad!

In this case, if the OP wanted to maximize performance at res above what we talked about, he should definitely go for a multiple GPU solution.

We should remember that our cards don't really care so much about what your monitors can do. It will happily supply the res provided two conditions are met 1) the monitors support your res, and 2) the video card can display the res. I'd like to see a 30x3 setup though, that would be pretty nice for all kinds of situations, gaming, 3d rendering, etc.! What's nice about having 4 monitors 3x1 and one up top, is that you can run your temp and monitoring programs while gaming. It's all pretty cool stuff!

You'll come to love this site.

Sadly, there isn't a comparison review (they didn't have a GTX 480, after all when they wrote it, and I'm pretty sure its pointless to make them go head to head with gtx285, 5870s will blow it away).

No triple 2560x1600 either, but I think you'll need 2 GB and 2 CFX for that. Except for pripyat, you probably need beyond 2 cards.

Note: These are all speculations. Shut me up.

Oh yeah, post some pics when they're up and running
