    Mix and Match Brands?

    Hey guys im about to pickup another 5870 for some xfire action, i have an Asus 5870. I cannot find the same one in stock anywhere now, newegg has this new v2 that only has 1 dvi and 2 hdmi ports. Can i mix xfx with asus?

    the v2 actually has 1 x dvi, 1 x hdmi and 1 x display port

    what about mixing v1 with v2?

    from the looks of it you can mix 5830, 5850, 5870 and 5970 don't see why not v1 vs v2. And from looking at your other thread its most likely the pcb design to be different so water blocks should be different.

    WEll that sucks that the new Asus is probably a different PCB which means waterblocks might not work... maybe i can pickup a used one or a different brand and bios flash
