Other cards to crossfire with my 4870X2?

    I've got a 4870X2, can I use a 5770 or 5850/5870 with it, or do I have to stick with a 4870/90 card?

Looking for most performance vs dollar on ncix.com.

    48701gb or another 4870x2

You could pair it with a bunch of others, but would get bad results...

I've never seen anyone test one with cards that match or exceed a 4870 1g, thats what i'm looking for really. All those other tests were with poorer cards mostly.

u can do a 4850, 4870 or 4890, tri fire dosnt work to well though u would be better off getting a single higher end card like a 5850/70 and those will be faster once u oc them or getting a pair of the 58xx or a 5970

I have a 4870X2 and I am considering doing exactly what you are doing.
Please get back with your results when you put the 4870 in.
    Thanks!!

    i ran a 4870x2 CF with a 4890 and it scaled nicely...

also ran 2 512mb 4870 and a 4890 in tri fire and it seemed to scale well too.
This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine..

    I once had my 4870X2 run with a 4870 1GB.. scaled a little, but only in 3DMark 06
Totally nonexistant scaling in games for Tri-Fire.. I'm a lot happier with my single 5870 (@1100 Core ) than I ever was with the 4870X2

That run was a very long time ago tho...
