Stoolman and **dp** At The Gathering in Norway! 6Ghz Retail Gulftown :)

    Hi guys!

This week one of the world biggest lanparties is going on here in Hamar, Norway. All the participants are now living with there computers in 4 days, gaming etc.. About now I think we are 6000+.

Stoolman and myself is currently benching live at the PCWorld stand here, and we got some pretty good results for retail Gulftown I believe. The chip just SCREAMS under LN2, and these runs are not final. Should be able to tweak some memory + uncore and windows to. We are running 2 x 5970 at the moment, and even tho they are bugging like shamps.. we got this:

    Rig:

    Intel i7 980X B1 Retail 3003B178 CBB -130C, CB -145C
    Gigabyte X58-UD7 unmodded
XFX 5970 x 2 Black Edition - Flashed with Sapphire bios for full fan option.
    OCZ 16000 3 x 2GB Blade memory
    Coolermaster 1000w PSU
    Coolermaster benchingtable
    Stoolcan CPU-Pot

    06 score:

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=13606050

Vantage, we decided not to run it anymore.. because the VGAs are bugging.

Best Vantage, done before we "cracked" the code with cpu.. and also before the VGAs werent that willing.

Just below the swedish guys... but, our 06 smashed theirs!!

So, currently enjoying the event here in "Vikingskipet" Hamar, the olympic skating arena from Lillehammer 1994 OL.

As you see, its a ship upside down

Thanks to our sponsors and suppliers!

    Gigabyte, XFX, Coolermaster and Amentio.no!!

this seems to be a good chip.. but road-runner also has a 6Ghz++ retail, I think these chips need some tweaking.

going at it again soon, maybe bench some 05, need to tight the rig up a little, maybe bump uncore to 25x

a shame we dont have room for 4 x 5870 on this card.. it would kick A S S in vantage and 06/03.

    thanks for nice replies!

(and yes saaya, I usually just run retail.. 661 @ 6.8GHz pi.. retail )... ofcourse I know who you are hinting at

Stoolman entered, and I was suppose to follow him... BUT, iam going away to London at the same time to visit some schools that might be able to give me my master in finance. Also visiting some companies that might give me a good job.. so, Gigabyte have to wait

New bios for the UD7 = more eff... 42560 at lower cpu freq.

Thanks to hicookie for support on the bios, and as always: XFX, Gigabyte, Amentio.no and Coolermaster.

seems the new UD7 bios kicks in nice time to upgrade mine also for the event @ Madrid.

BTW: massman are you not coming to Madrid for Campus Party? heard that.

It always tastes better with retail.. thats a fact. But.. I have recieved a ES B1 in the mail while iam up here.

Thanks to all, Gulftown is really a BLAST at 6Ghz. 06 cputests run with high fps finally

"cracking" the code means using 31x.. haha.. seems to be the best MP by far on this cpu.

6 GHz CPU test is awesome. Wonder if it has a chance of cracking 6.3+ thru the GT's like several of the A0's do.

as long as it is Q4EG - it is not too bad but CL7 without 1.5+ vtt = nogo and ~6 GHZ AM3 is all what you can expect out of this one imo. If it is better just inform us all
