    Ehh... no.

Tinfoil is not a insulator, the characteristic of a insulator is, that they posses a very poor thermal conductivity (λ), tinfoil has the same λ as aluminium, which has pretty much one of the highest values metals can offer.

Combined with the fact that tinfoil only is about 0,010 to 0,015 mm thick, thats the reason why you can touch the foil a few seconds after you have taken it out of the oven.

Could have a resistence by now and plenty of calluses
As I said, the area/mass ratio is quite big. Take any metal piece that weighs 0.027grams/cm² (Aluminium has 27kg/dm³ and tinfoil is ~0.01mm thick) and you'll never get burned, the energy in that much metal is to small to ever make it past the epidermis at normal cooking temperatures.

Still a good space heater, though since they missed their launch date by a huge margin, they missed their good season. Though by the time we need heaters again, the prices should have hit rock bottom and it may just be a good alternative for some people over other radiant heaters.

    This is so true!

Im so stupid that I bought 5770s in November, and since then my room has been soooo cold.

I need to upgrade to GTX 480 Tri SLI for winter ... but its too late now!

Imagin something goes wrong and the egg gets on the grafix card and the entire cooler is covered with it.
Try explaining that to the manufacturer when you RMA it.

They need to get a small 1 egg skillet and try again. The tin foil used can't hold the heat needed to cook on.

70.00.10.00.01 was the bios version used to do the reviews with. However this guy decides test an egg using version 70.00.18.00.01. This is an inconsistent result. We need to see what version 70.00.10.00.01 does. Afterward we need to see performance, heat and power consumption results using the new version 70.00.18.00.01.

it does look like the egg yolk has started to solidify (its started to turn white) so...it could cook an egg on tinfoil...eventually

You must be kidding right? The only place(s) I can think of where this thread is illegal would be North Korea and maybe Iran.

and they are doing it wrong, fyi, to "cook" an egg all you need is break down the proteins and in case anybody remembers biology, that happens at around 40-50C for most of them... you can cook an egg at very low temperatures, it just takes a long time.

im sure that if you run f@h on a 480 in a closed case the heatsink gets to around 80C if not more, at that temperature you should be able to fry an egg within a few minutes. and actually you dont even need a highend vga for that, temp=!heat... even a 50W vga will heat its heatsink to 80C if the fan is disabled or slow enough, its a closed case with high ambient temps of 30-40 etc...

the special thing about gf100 cards is that they seem to run very hot at stock speed when fully loaded... idk if they are much hotter than other highend cards tho... id def like to see a propper bacon egg and sausage review of highend cards! looks at benchzowner... what? who else would actually do something so crazy and funny?
