    Boinc on a separate HD?

    Hey Everybody,

Not sure if this has been discussed before, if so--I missed it.

Picked up 2 HDs from INFRNL. I have an old 36gb raptor. I was thinking of installing Boinc on the raptor to help take some wear-n-tear off the OS drive. Is there any benefit there? Or am I seeing it wrong?

36 gig raptors are my choice for crunching drives, have them in 5 machines, one since 2005.. They do last

Never thought of this before. I think it's a good idea.
I must say I never had a harddisk failure ,and I'm crunching 24/7 for more than 5 years now. Guess i'm just very lucky

The only HDD failures I've had were years ago with Maxtor. Then I became educated.
