    H50 pump fails to start?

Hey, I have a brand new H50 I just received from the egg. Sometimes, when I power on the rig (Core i3 530 @ 3.4ghz on H55M-S2H, with an ULTRA 450W PSU), the pump will not start. The bios reads the "fan" rpm at 0 for the pump and temperature will rise until PC shutdown. Rebooting usually solves the issue.

All fan controlling options are turned off in the bios, would that be a defective unit? I installed a few H50 before and none had that issue.

Just to be thorough, try connecting the pump directly to the PSU. Some MOBOs have a delayed start on the fan headers even if the fan control options are turned off. Is it connected to the CPU fan header?

It was connected directly to the motherboard. I tried it today with a molex to fan adapter, and it seemed to work ok. I'll try it some more and give feedback. Thanks.

Try it on the fan header for the CPU if you have not already.

Running the H50 off the molex adapter works great. Did not try the CPU header.

    Thanks for the help.

Strange problem indeed. I've been running the pump off a molex adapter for a few weeks now and it's working flawlessly.
