    ^^ This.

It's obvious a joke, RTFM-chip and all, but if the PR manager doesn't sack this guy it'll be FAIL^2.

April's fool is a full week away, it's a bad joke to say the least and emailing ALL THE FREAKING REGISTERED USERS?!?

    I don't know about a RTFM-chip, but I can't count the number of times I wish I had a RTFM-whip.

Bad joke ? No. It's kinda funny. Not smart, but not too shabby as well. However I have to say that I feel sorry for the ones who fell for it Seriously guys, wtf
Bad timing ? Not at all if you want people to fall for it even if only for a moment
Who would believe it if they sent it out 1-2 days before or on April fools day ?

Gotta say this is going to make me think twice about an MSI purchase even if it's fake. I like the serious no BS forums of other manufacturers when it comes to my products and my money.

I think some of you need to take a tour of the Internet:

I mean come on there's no need to be so up-tight about it. Live a little.

Seriously dude - you need to lighten up, if I were to get bent out of shape for all the e-mail I get that tells me I need to grow my manhood larger or need Viagra... then I would be a miserable person! I mean you gotta just let stuff roll off your back, but then again if you like taking everything so hard more power to you!

I dont think you get it - emails about viagra and manhood sizes dont have anything to do with emails sent out by either MSI, Asus, or Gigabyte insulting users who cant read a manual that isnt even written in comprehensible English in the first place.

Imagine yourself as CEO of MSI for a day and finding out that this had just happened.

Not quite...but if it is fun and games fine its "funny" but I don't know maybe it comes from me thinking of how it would land in my company where in a market that is largely based on reputation and brand loyalty...someone would have been fired. But if it is fun and games guess its nice to see everyone not be so serious all the time

So basically you would be at fault if your card died and MSI detected that you overclocked during some time period of you owning the card?

Joke done in poor taste and way too early. This is not the kind of thing that should be said by someone who runs a support forum for a company...

You dont get it. Bas was trolling and baiting everyone who complained, and then banning them. No one was being lame other than the mod.

To be honest, I quite like the idea of a company having a more human face.

    Yup, this.

Did you guys actually read the thread on MSI forum? There were lots of pretty pissed people posting for the first time on the forums just coz' the tard thought it was funny sending emails to every single MSI product owner that registered on it's support forums saying very bad things about the company he works for.

Is it obviously meant as a joke? Yes, it is, all it takes is reading the thread/mail title. Is it a fact that 90% of computer users barely knows how to update Facebook and read e-mails? Yes, it is. Go ask some guy down the street if he knows what RTFM means or how a BIOS works...

Putting a human face on a company may be cool but no matter what you do not do that talking trash about you own products even if today was April 1st.

Having used the MSI forums in the past, people there tend to hold a strong dislike for overclocking. There are even people there who think that using any ram that is outside JDEC spec is bad for your computer. It would seem that MSI have been reading and listening to comments made by such clowns and are taking a step back to appease the 'Overclocking is bad ok?' crowd, wherease Gigabyte and Asus continue to move forward by allowing and supporting overclocking.

I have yet to see a single component fail from overclocking, so I dont know what rubbish they've been smoking.

Oh look, MSI hate overclocking so much that they even have overclock competitions:

    http://www.guru3d.com/contest/

And now they seem to hate the 'noobs' who do it and get it wrong.
    Are you for real?

And I thought you were unbearable to read because of all the 5770 bragging every post and the other... seriously, get a grip on yourself.
