Isn't the VTT mod the one in the upper left corner of the front of the PCB, near the CF connectors?

I just got to play around for 30 minutes with the lastest version of the Gigabyte 5870 SOC - huge improvement to my earlier sample in terms of GPU clocks on air. While my early sample was stuck around 940 on the core this one was doing a cool 1020 with default voltage. If this card was to scale like my old sample...1500mhz would have been a cakewalk on LN2!

Starting to really enjoy the UD7 - too bad I have no Gulftown goodness to match with...

my card is also very early sample but i have to increase volts to get 1GHz stable on air

i think its stable at about 960 or bit more with stock volts...memory around 1300

MSI card is 980 but ram is 1250 max i think......and volts dont help with clocks but i got a new bios to flash the card with which supposedly improves memory clocks
    will check it out

Vddci can be adjusted with voltage tool, not sure about vtt mod.
Vddci is a must for big clocks in some cases - betcha this card had a lot more potential to be unlocked...

Yeah - heard about the MSI getting better mem clocks now - think they might have found out about the impact of PCI-E voltage now too... Another cute feature the SOC can adjust with that nifty tool

Wonder if that lightening bios has different mem timings now, or if they were changing voltages

was just about to check with dmm when the system suddenly shut down...wonder why

the clocks in GPU-z are wrong btw - i think the actual clocks were 1000/1300 irrc

Back to main topic - loving that A0 - aren't we???

Moved onto a new board >> X58A-UD9. She's looking pretty good so far

I did a writeup on some of the benching done with a few of us here http://gigabytedaily.blogspot.com/

There are some nice improvements that have been done in the last few days from Gigabyte team. ET will have a new profile feature for real time CPU clocking during benchmarks which will come in handy for Vantage and 06 for example..

Got a new bios to test this morning. Pi efficiency is looking sweet > new bios > 8 seconds gain during air testing compared to old woohoo

They where unsure if they would go UD8 or skip it for another name , thats what they told at CEBIT. However UD9 does sound better than 8
