As long as it cools the voltage regulators well. When I overclock my 5870 its the voltage regulators and not the gpu temp that limit me.

Generally, how do Accelero heatsinks compare to full-cover waterblocks? In the same sort of comparison as a TRUE copper wins over Corsair H5O.

    Preliminary review

    Hey,

    I found this: http://tbreak.com/tech/2010/06/ac-ac...me-5870-review

It seems to confirm what the AC web site states...

    Take care,
    Jiri

    i hope she works w/ 5850.

    otherwise we might be upgrading

IMO the "Accelero Extreme" series of coolers are the best in single card air cooling solutions.

I got the VF3000a from zalman for my 5850's... good and quiet... @ 7v but if you do get your Arctic let me know ChinStrap... should be interesting comparing the two
(I do however have a Silverstone 180mm fan as side intake for the vga's... might give me an advantage )

Friend: Do you have a spare PSU lying around?
    Me: No why?
Friend: My PSU just blew up, I think the second 8800GTX might have been too much for it to handle
Me: what PSU was that again?
    Friend: Antec 480w
    Me:........

    backplate

    Hey,

I was just wondering, can you use the stock backplate with the xtreme?
If so, I would be in. Otherwise I'm sticking with the stock cooler. I don't
want to ruin the looks of my machine

    Take care,
    Jiri
