It is a shame the D-series starts @ 256GB. I would have toyed w/ idea of purchasing one however @ 256GB I know they'll be effing expensive.

we'll probably find someone crazy enough here to fill a 9260 with these

p.s - steve said to have checked the PCI-e cards prices, they're ~6750$..

maybe aim for the EC or the D SAS series (250/250 64-256).

The d-series is PCIe/ although I don't know if it is a native PCIe card or just a bunch of SATA cards on a RAID controller like the LSI card.

these last three (except the FC) seems to be SATA's & SAS's, yet probably are irrelevant for your needs :what to do:, they're PCIe solutions are basically aimed at the enterprise market not enthusiast,
and that's they're specs and high price..
at the data sheet foremay specifies the fast 400-1600MBps D series to be PCI's and no word on the slower SAS/SATA ones, doubtfully yet could be that these fit on some sort of an extension card.
maybe u'll get better luck with prices at Innodisk, OCZ or Violin if u'd like to exchange u'r IOXetreme,
there's the new one coming from LSI.
