My guess would be that both would sound about the same. The onboard sound of the MB has a few more features, but the Audigy 2 ZS *might* sound a tiny bit better.
Here is the DAC used on the Audigy 2 ZS, spec wise it is very similar to the onboard of that motherboard:
Here is the spec page for the ALC8899 for the onboard sound

Nvidia GTX 670
Yamakasi Catleap 2B overclocked to 120Hz refresh rate

Do you know if the Audigy has port sensing? Using my onboard I get a dialogue when I plug something in allowing me to select what it is.

I dont think the Audigy 2 ZS has port sensing. That is a newer feature than the age of the Audigy 2

i have an A2plat pro and its better than the gd70 onbloard but there is mic input corruption quite frequently, u just have to reselect the bit rate and it will reset and clear up though

I'm running my Audigy 2 ZS instead of the onboard of my GD70, but that's more because I always have run it, and previously it beat out any onboard sound. Does it now? Not sure, but given that I've been yet to be impressed by every other onboard out there, I just kept with old faithful![]()
