    Xeon E56** and motherboard

    Hello

I'd like to know if the upcoming Xeon32nm DP E56 ** will compatbile with a motherboard "classic" (R2E, R3E, etc ...) and if there will be no problem

and also, this is a Xeon s'OC as I7 920 for example?

    thank you
    Sorry for my english

    With BIOS update, yes.

Not much info yet, but my X5667 does 4.6 with HT on for 24/7 with 1.376 load. Not sure what I'm comfortable using in terms of voltage for 24/7 Folding@Home.

Depends on the particular motherboard and BIOS updates available. They will be, sooner or later; some motherboard already support those.

    thank you for your answers

I had seen on other boards that it was laborious to OC a Xeon and I fail at the same with a i7 "classical" and on motherboard mono-socket the 2nd bus QPI may make errors and some options in bios are not present

For example, with a Xeon E5640 and R2E (or R3E) if the bios allows, I might OC to 4.2GHz without problems?

    thank you very much
