If you don't know what's good then ask what's expensive. So, look after Asus or Gigabyte mainboard with 790FX and 750 chipsets and extreme chipset cooling or look after DELUXE/D5(or higher) variants of these mainboards.

    UD4 is probably better.

The lineup goes from cheapest/weakest to strongest:

    790X-UD3P, 790X-UD4, 790X-UD4P.

I know the UD4 has 4+1 phase power but I'm sure it's strong enough...Flank3r runs one of those boards.

4 Ghz will be hard to achieve, 3900 would be a better target unless you have really good cooling.

There is a cooling : Thermalright true black and NOCTUA NF-P12-1300 120mm good cooling. We tested the ASUS AMD M4A785D-M PRO 785G DDR2.But this board drop.We saw in 4000 mhz test.Cpu was stable. But Asus board drop.

    Thank you.

    Think : 790X-UD3P

I run a UD4P as well. 4Ghz with a 955 is possible, but it's rough. And generates a LOT of heat. Even with the NH-D14 my temps are still high. (Finally got a stable 4.0Ghz lastnight. ) I can't push it any harder with air cooling.

...now to start tweaking my ram....

    This temperature under load and prime95.Load ambient 53 c. idle 44 c ))

But I took off the exhaust fan.3-4 degrees cooler than the exhaust fan ))))

    Normal ambient idle : 40-41 c is ok ?

    I changed my cooler yesterday.Buy Noctua d-14.

4100 mhz open 1.5 v but not stabil.Began to pump heat.

prime95 test, while the third is reset.

While it did not even open the Thermalright true black.Very interesting.

    Noctua good cooler.
