Indeed but we were not talking about manufacturer-specific APIs but rather the use (or lack thereof) of rendering / performance optimizations.

I got the interation of X-Ray SoC used to do more things than anyone imagined possible, and not only does it do it flawlessly, it looks far superior to the latest X-Ray iteration in COP.

Ave that in your pipe and smoke it Oles.

    You're my man, I love X-Ray
Maybe one of the only things I would want it to do more, is damage modelling in SoF II style... That would be killer.

So is all this work rolled up into your linked mod? I'm going to try your mod either way. I'm a total STALKER nut and your mod looks interesting.

I am the only one that hates the graphics? I don't see the high res textures anywhere, and the colors are totally washed out, almost like Fallout 3. I don't know if this video is on X360 or what, but to me it looks like total crap. Look at the textures in 0:39, the railroad looks like plastiline, the washer looks like chocolate, and what about the clothes?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQgf1SMLycE

Also the faces, worse than Oblivion (if that is possible), the eyes in 0:52 look like plastered over the face xD

Watch that trailer and now whatch this one:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lkytZk9uyc

Compare cloth textures in 0:18, or faces and eyes around 0:45

Oh and it doesn't need Fermi, it runs 30fps 1280x800 all in medium in my 7900GSX 630/840?

IMO this will be a bigger failure than STALKER(s)

Pretty sure a hardware maker can't sue a software maker for not optimizing for their hardware. Hell, Sony could sue Halo for not making it playable on PS3 if that was the case. Intel is crippling AMD with their compiler, not just optimizing for their own chips. If nvidia were to allow physics on ATI but then made it run like crap when ATI hardware was present, that could be taken to court. I guess computer gaming is too small to have console type exclusives where 2033 would only play on Nvidia hardware and Dirt would only play on ATI or something.
