XFX GeForce4 MX4000 - Help with vgpu mod

    Hi guys,

Anyone know here is the measure point and the resistor to shade to got higher vgpu on this card? (preference is pencilmod, my soldering skills at this moment isnt so good, still need more training...But if soldering is the unique possible method, its valid! )

The vram pencilmod I managed to find the resistor and the measure point, already marked on this pic:

Current result with default vgpu and vram @ 3.18v (stock = 2.6v)

If need more pics or measures, just talk.

    Thanks for help!

    These old cards rocks!
Cheapo, fun and at least this MX4000 is a monster, got 608mhz on ram @ 3.38v at this moment, just need a better motherboard for this T-Bred to got good 3DM01/03/AM3 results.

the one on the left definitely isn't a voltage controller, its a lm324 quad op-amp comparator, so it could be a voltage amplifier.

I soo want to build another AXP-M/GF4 Ti rig to mess arround with. Would love to put a TRUE on the chip and slap an S1 on the GF4 Would be hella fun/ny to see how fa it'd go before going *poof*.

As far s mobo's go, checkout eBay for NF7's or A7N8X-E's. The A7N8X was always a fun board to mod for me. Did all kinda cooling/voltage mods on those things back in the day.

Nice mem OC btw Whats the moeory on that card rated for?

    Incredible mem clock! Congrats, champz

With a better motherboard/CPU you can do more than 200 marks easily. The SDRAM mem's and the bad T-bred limits the MX's potential.

    vGPU mod?

    CPU: Core i3 530ES @4.76GHz 1.48V HT by Hyper 212 Plus
    MB: Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3R
    RAM: 4GB DDR3-1600 @1850 8-8-8-21 1T G.Skill Trident
    VGA: HIS HD 4850 IceQ4
    HD: 500GB HDD's Samsung
    PSU: Satellite SL-8600EPS

    Sorry my bad english

    Memory chips:
VDATA VDD8616A8A-5B HD447-E 2.6v, apparently rated @ 7ns (286mhz, default memory clock in this vid card)

Currently, I am using a highly ghetto cooling system on my MX4000, cooler removed from a dead Inno3D GF4 MX440 + 92mm fan which works great!

EDIT: One friend help me with the vgpu mod, I update the pic on first page! It work nicely!!!

    XFX.

EDIT: Better cooling and vgpu @ 1.59v:

Better benchmark results only when my Abit NF8 arrive to bench this vid card with my old 754 Sempy...

Slap it on a modern motherboard and CPU and you undoubtedly score better.

    Why just 06 alone?

I'm getting a Sempron 2800+ with an x8 AGP slot. The sempron should be stock fast enough to produce some nice clocks.

I'm planning to start messing around with older AGP cards again.
