    Dual 24" vs 30"

first of all forgive me if this has been asked, the search wont let me search for terms this short..

anyways, i actually currently have 3 24" lcds.
2 of them are the benq g2400w and the third is one of those samsung all in one deals.
i use the samsung as my tv so i am going to keep that definitely, but i really am considering trading in my 2 benq's for a 30"

i am a web developer and a photographer.
the bezel is just pissing me off badly and i feel that i need more space.
using all 3 monitors at once is kind of hopeless too, it is just far too wide.

so i basically i would like to know if any of you have made this move, why you did, and are you happier now with a 30 over dual 24's?

i like to game but never have the time with damn school and work..
i would want a good quality panel but those seem to be crazy expensive right now.
i am not necessarily wanting to change in the near future, more of a plan later this year.

The only reason I'd choose a single larger monitor is for gaming. I have a 30" at home and I have a 4 monitor setup at work (1x24, 3x17). I wouldn't trade the multi monitor setup for gaming, and there's no way I'd go back to a single (or even dual) monitor for work.

I"m in your same position. I have a 25.5" and a 24". I"m going to get rid of the 24" and replace that with a 30".

Maybe you should keep one of the benq monitors and just sell one to offset the cost of the 30"? That way, you still have a dual screen set up. It all depends on how much desk space you have.

It's very very difficult to go from a dual+ monitor set up back to a single monitor, despite how high the resolution is.

I second the 30'' + g2400w idea. That's what I run right now and I couldn't be happier. Most of my work gets done on the 30in with the music/trillian/torrents/gadgets/misc on the other screen.

Sounds exactly like the set up I have and will have.

I'm thinking of getting that refurb NEC. Probably will very soon.

I'd rather throw my money that way than at Dell.

If I have money I would get the NEC, but I'm still happy since I got my 30" for a really good price anyway. There was a guy who offered me the 3008WFP for $700 but I turned down even though dual 30" sound really tempting.
