Thanks!! Dealing with Creative on this issue like this (upgrading audio drivers for a special motherboard arrangement) seems like it could have been a hassle, so thanks for the time and effort.

Not really - as it's been said, Server 2008 and Windows 7 are very much alike. I use Server 2008 so I can run Hyper-V for my utility servers. It seems to do everything else exactly like my Windows 7 laptop and previous Vista x64 build.

Installed with Latest Realtek Drivers (R2.45), installed with no issues.
I didn't go into the activation thingy this time, I have already done that on this installation of Windows 7, so maybe it's not needed anymore.

BTW, how do you know the "X-Fi" emulation is working in games and that EAX is working properly ?

I installed and everything seemed to work correctly, but after I restarted my Volume Icon has a red x on it and says no device is plugged in, Win7 does a fix and the audio will start to work again but then all the creative programs say no campatible device is installed. If I shutdown again, I have to do the Win7 fix everytime to have any sound.
    Any ideas?

I still have to let windows "fix" the drivers everytime I turn on the comp. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I just do not know what to try anymore.

the reason for the key is some board are not allow to have but if you got the lic you can use on them board
as foxconn has to pay creative for every lic sold and they controll the software not foxconn

not sure how you will get a key but try the foxconnchannel support site and see what happens, as i said not much i can do on this
