Hey
With this economic crisis it's even more difficult to follow the train of the competitive benchmarking.
I remember when I was scared about buying only one high-end graphic card to play 3DMark and with the appearance of multi-GPU solutions like SLI or CF I knew how difficult will be in the near future to keep a decent rig to bench 3D.
After been forced to sell some of my best toys that I've religiously kept in my desk to play 2001 someday again, I tried to find some alternatives to keep overclocking even with low budget stuff.
So I've started finding some Cedar Mill chips on eBay and got one for less than 10€ and bought an used P5B Deluxe.
This was a preliminary test with Dry Ice and no mods I've made last Friday and showed up to a group of students from a school here in Lisbon.
- Intel Celeron D - Cedar Mill 352 D0 | ~ -25ºC, 1.63v
- ASUS P5B Deluxe
- Old and still alive Corsair XMS2 2x512MB

Still have another Cedar Mill chip to test. Need to get some LN2 to torture booth chips
And remember: you can have some fun overclocking even without wasting to much money
