I like the name.. I'd suggested "Movieman's Dream" because to be 100% honest, it is..
Been waiting 5 years for someone to make an overclockable dualie and God Bless them, EVGA stepped up to the plate.
the timing is perfect also as the 6 core Westmere's in this board will be absolutely huge for almost anything you can think of.
Want a rendering machine and can't afford a $1,000,000.00 Supercomputer?
This will fill the need nicely.
Like to Fold? Here's the board.
WCG like I do? I think this will be the first 100,000PPD machine.
It has so many possibilities that it's scary.

It can serve as a great 3D-render station, for sure. But put a couple of server-grade NIC into this MB, then the 12c/24t @4.6GHz can serve as a great enterprise server for many middle-size companies.
It has redundant CPU which is really impotent for reliability. Add a redundant RAID storage system, and a redundant power supply to it (both comes relatively cheap), and you will get pretty close to a mission critical server, with much more reliability than a single CPU system.

Yes, the performance side will always be steady increasing so it doesn't matter when to buy... But the feature set isn't.
The sole reason I'm specifically waiting for that gen are the AVX and FMA instruction sets. Those will make a HUGE difference on the programming side.
You don't get radical improvements like that in every generation.
(Of course nobody else will care since none of the major benchmarks use new features anyway...)
EDIT:
If I can use AVX and FMA well enough, then I'll show you more than 2x improvement between adjacent generations...
(That's assuming Intel and AMD implement "true" 256-bit vector units... which I kinda doubt they will on the first gen with the feature set...)
EDIT 2: I'm being a little too optimistic, but you get the idea.

Actually according to Intel here, 6Ghz isn't out of sight for 24/7 as it sounds...

Well how long till they can get to hating?
We're all anxiously waiting for this thing to turn on... Even if we can't know the numbers yet.
(unless we secretly start tracking BOINC stats...)

Of course you would have to step your PSU up to this guy a SILVERSTONE 1500W

My system lost memorym rma came in this am..It will ba back up after I get some coffee in me and my eyes actually open.
scary and more $$ than I have to be blunt..Would like to borrow them though!
And that would really be unfair to the guys there that work so hard for what they get.
I will submit scores but more to show what this can do than for the "glory" part.
Now there isd one bench that I want to really show where this beast will shine:
Cinebench 11.5.. I know what these chips can do at default 3458 on that benchmark.. At overclocked speeds you will dampen your undies when you see the numbers..
