    So far I've counted:
    1x 24-pin
    2x 8-pin
    2x 6-pin

    Is that all?

3 6pins actually, one for each CPU and one for extra directly to the PCIe slots

I agree with you on this one. I can settle with some directed perpendicular with the majority parallel, but ALL of them perpendicular? Hell no! To be fair, though, whoever buys this board will have a massive case and subsequently will have tons of room to work with for wires. Also, production units might be different.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

    Ok, rant over.

    .....
The 90-degree SATA placement on the edge of the MB would make the case requirement even wider. This MB requires a very wide case as it is already.

Peter Tan(Shamino) did a good job. If he needs several testers, could always PM several people on this forum, hint hint.

It would be interesting to see if this MB + 2 x E5620 OCed to ~4GHZ could outperform the i7 980x on both price and performance.

It won't. I don't even have to try to know that.
This board "should" support all 45nm and 32nm dual QPI Gainestown and Westmere cpu's and thats it..
