when will nordichw get one? And hopefully you wont kill it - send it to Andreas, he will keep it safe - and distant from you
Don't worry, it's built to be manhandled

And why are you all so worried about the length? It's not like it's going to be used inside a case anyway

@zalbard Look at the size of the memchips, they are bigger on the second card in your comparison. Meaning you need to make it a bit smaller and rotate it to get something more accurate. It will either be of similar length or shorter. My guess is shorter.

I think why it appears shorter is the Asus card has a longer pcb height. Just look around the die. The asus card appears to be 3 of those squares in width while the stock is maybe 2.5. Also look at the dvi connector. There is room for barely 3 connectors if you squished them together, while on the Asus, you can fit nearly 4. The card looks more squarish, thus making it look shorter.

Doubt it's shorter, the image is not THAT bad. But of course, this is not a very accurate comparison...

    Edit: take 2!

I'm guessing it'll be about 0.2" shorter than the stock 5970, meaning that you MIGHT be able to use it if your chassis (like mine) is just a touch too small for a full 5970. I measured and found I was slightly too short, off by a fraction of an inch. Either way, I can't wait till we have real reviews of this including measurements. In other news... am I correct in assuming that it'll be a 2x2GB card?

Wow, I would like to see some numbers on what this can do. Very exciting!
