If I use cpu tweaker to set timings cpuz reads them right, maybe the bios isnt setting them right with this chip, the same thing was happening when clarkdale first came out. Only way it read them right was to use the x40 qpi link.

Regards bclk - P55 and H55/57 need very little juice for huge bclk. This was done with 8gb 1.14v chipset and 1.36vtt. Gigabyte P55-UD5 stock cooling no fan, and a titan fenrir cpu cooler.

Unlike quads you don't lose loads of bclk by running high cpu core either. Really like these duals .

    very nice bclk PiLsY.

found out why my ud7 never ran right. looks like 2 pins are fused together, looked at it magnified and looks like a defect not bent pin. In trying to fix it i did major damage and the board is now unusable, so it is in the trash now, had it a month.

Haha I guess that could cause some problems! Can you RMA it?

Not now, i damaged a couple other pins messing with it, after that there was no chance of an rma, raked a screwdriver across all the pins and pitched it in the trash.

I would like to thank quality control at gigabyte for this.

If I had seen something like that I'd never attempt to fix it myself.

Yes I am back on the ud6 now. This is a great board, shouldnt have ever bought the ud7.
    I guess this stuff happens.

Also a big thanks to foxconn, your reputation for producing fine 1156 cpu sockets is simply amazing.

I hear you man. Definitely a drag. Glad it didn't take your CPU in the process as well.

good news is, i was having major issues with overclocking my i7-870 on this board but clarkdale chips were doing ok, i had thought that my 870 chip was on its way out. turns out the chip is fine.

Yeah, compare that with my i3 550 which needs same voltage to get to 4Ghz... I think it's time for me to get a lucky chip for once..

the 655k is malaysia L008B540 05/03/2010 pack date

all on H55M-UD2H (by the way this is my favorite board to date for clarks and only cost 100 bux)

ive tried the following boards so far:

    biostar tpower i55
    biostar th55xe
    msi gd65
    gigabyte h55m-usb3
