Why AMD Radeon rumors/leaks "are not always accurate"
Reality check
if it had 12x outputs I could see a point in this, but it doesn't so WTF Sparkle?

GTX 470 @ 859MHz 1062mv
2GB of DDR2 @ 800MHz (400MHz real) at the end of a 128-bit bus........
I was gonna say "would maybe make a good PhysX card to go alongside a 5870..................

The Fruck....They're joking right?
Edit: Is it possible that we in the first world are so spoiled with the latest and greatest that we forget there are people out there with the need for these things?

I know some ppl that will definitely buy this card, they just think the bigger the RAM it had, the better the performance

No, no I shouldn't!
MUST.....
RESIST......
NOOOO!
LMAO!
I remember that picture =D
To be fair, XFX has a 5570 with 1GB DDR2 memory.
Laugh all you want, the lame truth is, that the moronic of the common people are making this card a best seller, almost overtook the 5800 series in February. Scored more than 4800 or 5700 series. And it is only 1 card.
While you are asking Sparkle the why of this card, Joe "i have a 2gb card" Johnson is buying 2 of these for his ultimate gaming rig.

People absolutely will buy a 2 GByte card over a 1 Gbyte unit, regardless of the rest of the specs. Sad really.
bill:-"hey joe, what video card you bought?"
joe:-"i bought a 2gb one"
bill:- "it running the game very good?"
joe:-"yep, games playing better than the 1gb one"
that's the normal dialogue with ppl. f.ckin halarious

This card could have a select few applications. I remember seeing some results with SQL databases having stupid high throughput when run completely from the GPU GDDR. So maybe dump 4 to 6 of these silly cards into a server and have an incredibly quick database for a database intensive project? I suspect you'd be better off doing this in system memory though, would be easier to get a workable size of memory.
So this has 2GB of ram. The 5870 only has 1GB of vram... so this must be 2 times faster. Damn, maybe nVidia is getting back into the game. Definite buy over the 58xx if priced right IMO.
512 is probably overkill for this card... lol

Not like this comes by any suprise. NVIDIA has already kept practicing exploiting people (ATI ofc too but not as severely as NV) who knows no better in the past few years. Seems like a good strategy to fill their pockets, why give up now?
