New Sigma lenses

Sigma lenses for full frame:

• Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX HSM
• Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX OS HSM
• Sigma 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3 OS HSM

Sigma lenses for APS-C:

• Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 HSM
• Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX OS HSM

I for one can't wait for the 8-16mm lens, I'm definetly going to replace my 10-20mm F3.5 with this lens. It's a bit slow but I mostly shoot in good light and at F/8 anyways.

... It's going to take a lot of work to use filters on it.

And hopefully the 85mm f/1.4 is awesome.

i just fear the 85mm is going to be atleast $800.....

they really need to make, as someone ont he dp forums said. a 100mm or 135mm f/1.4 or even a 1.8.
that would be unheard of and they could take that section of the market by storm.

I'm curious to see what that new lens material they developed is like. It's good to see Sigma going after the fast prime lens market. I hope they do a 24 F1.4, 35 F1.4 and 200 f2 in the future.

well the fast primes and big zooms has really been their only good lenses.
it took them long enough to make the 85mm though.

In the interview with the Sigma Chief Operating Officer:

"85mm F1.4, which has been attracting a lot of attention at the show. 'It's similar in concept to the 50mm F1.4 - it's bigger, heavier and more expensive than OEM lenses but achieves higher performance,' says Yamaki."
