Actually, yes. I got that score right after i got that 8.42 but decided to keep it under my wraps as a back up in case you would top my 8.42 score.

I had a lot of processes and stuff going on so maybe by killing some processes and disabling some stuff efficiency might increase a little and give a better result. I don't think there is a lot to gain in terms of MHz for my chip as you can see i had to raise the volts quite a bit to get it to run at 5140MHz.

Keep pushing Dave, pretty sure you will beat me soon again.

I want to see the difference the Nb speed makes.
Ok like it is NB/HT has very little affect going from 2000mhz to 2600mhz / ht was set at 2000 and 2600 seeing it lowers as the NB can not go below the HT value.

Also lowering my HT caused my CPUvcore to go up..These Bioses truly suck donky beef

    Interesting Indeed

You got a nice chip yourself and on top of that, you got some huge bawls to give it that much volts. Nice to see how much CPU-NB can boost the score.

I foresee some more CB runs this week.

Well, not better than football for me... The Bengals just got ther 5th straight win!

wez: Way to come out of nowhere dude! Very nice score....

Looks like all you guys are running MUCH higher v's than I am.
Are you guys using outdoor (cold) air for cooling?

Also, do your chips quit scaling with v's and you just keep pushing anyway?
I took mine up pretty close to 1.5v and couldn't get anything out of it compared to 1.4275.

Maybe I just have a wierd chip.

Well, no football for me, Been playing with different bios versions seeing what does better for me. And Dave, It's not your chip that's weird...
I have to increase v's on my chip to get higher. The more i give the more it climbs. I just don'y have tha balls to push like Gotvoltage
I have had temps as low as 13*C with loads of 31 and can't get any for mhz unless I push the v's.

    psst
temperatures get higher faster with leakier transistors :p

Max cinebench on 1100T at 4 cores in 22c ambient:

This CPU sucks but I was suprised that it got this far.
Cores 5/6 disabled, if I enable 5/6 instead of 3/4 I am maxed at 4280 flat.

NB is at 1.24v to reduce heat
    EDIT:
Looking back to page 6-8, I see that my CPU is still full of suck. I didn't degrade it or anything, why do all my CPUs hate me?

Prolly cause you've been hating on the FX so bad lately, and you don't even have one yet....

Charged: Yeah, I think your right... It's somewhat different from Thuban, with Thuban the chip was close to the edge when you couldn't get a little more with a slight bump in v's.
It seems that sometimes it takes quite a bit more v's to get higher clocks with the FX (not optimal), but it works...

    Anyway, back on topic...
I just couldn't let the FX noobs of Zeus & wez make me look bad!
I've had my chip for close to a month, and they just got theirs.

I worked on this again after the game, and got a pretty decent CB11 score...
Not sure how long this will last, but it includes OS/temp tweaks (I opened the windows, even though it's not that cold out).

Ambient Temp is ~20c, and I pushed voltages WAY higher than what everything likes (Chip/IMC and Mem):

I'm not sure I'll push much harder than this! I like this chip and I don't wanna break it...

Before I found the max CB clocks, I ran a few others benchies. Not too shabby...

Say what you want folks... In typical AMD fashion, this is a fun chip to OC!

I think I may have to accept defeat on this one. For now....

Without using the AC to blow semi-cold air over the rads, voltage/freq wont scale much beyond 1.45v, heat just kills it.. As with thuban these things sure love it cold.

Did some testing, turning off the fans on two of my rads, leaving just one with fans going. Running my 24/7 clocks (4750/2600) The result is hard lock/bsod when under load. That somehow show how cooling hungry and picky these things are.

Way to raise the bar Dave! That will take some serious work to surpass i guess. I hope i can find some time this week to see what's left in mine but i'm afraid it will be doors open or pc outside.

WOW! You're guys having fun here!
5.1GHz+ for Cinebench is great! Can any of you just for nostalgic reasons run one set of tests using 2003x64 version? Pretty please! (Can be PM not to derail this nice thread!)

As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Well, done Dave. Looks like I need to get some new Ram. I think it is the biggest performance killer I have right now. I canget the clocks, but have to bring the timings up too which defeats the prupose. I need to know a good set to buy, any suggestions?

Hmm windows 8,interesting. Basically it sees the CPU as the 4core with SMT. Maybe it's how the new scheduler in win8 works with BD cores?

    Hey Dave!
Maybe it is because I've been hating on FX so much lately however its ST performance is preeettttyyyy bad. MT isn't all that bad though, with its 8 threads and all.
I am extremely money tight atm and that is the ONLY reason I do not have one of these chips. Chances are, I'll get one and I won't be able to OC it worth a either due to my bad luck or extreme lack of skill as I've been told before.

I dare you to push over the 5.2 Ghz hump

I think it was specific to the 32-bit binary. I'd run the 64-bit one before under Windows 8 and it showed up normally. Since I was having system trouble though all through that run, I wouldn't read a whole lot into it. It could have just been a fluke. Also worth noting is that Windows 8 performance in CB is down compared to Windows 7, so that theory I'd seen some other people mentioning doesn't appear to hold true in my experience.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

I don't wanna see it. I refuse to log in XS anymore.

Seriously, you have one hell of a chip then Dave, mine ran out of steam even though i lowered ambient temps by quite a bit. After the first error message the chip felt "tired" and kept failing. Fortunately there's always another day.

Looking forward to your back-up score, you sneaky b@stard.

Beep: I'd never doubt your skills man.... Too bad you don't have an FX though, if you did, you probably wouldn't be quite so hard on it.
For everyday use it seems just as fast (if not faster) than Thuban, and for encoding video it's quite a bit faster.
(BTW: Beep, here's your 5.2 CB run)

Zeus: I learned my sneaky skills from you buddy...
I was afraid you might have had another one up your sleeve.
