    Smile Core i7 Laptop Advice

    Hi Guys,

I am interested to buy a Core i7 Laptop. I would appreciate any advice and suggestions as I am not very good in picking Laptops. I am a web developer and am also interested in gaming.

Currently I am looking into this, (SONY VPCF11NFX/B NoteBook)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-055-_-Product

    Core Features:
    Screen: 16.4"
    Memory Size 4GB DDR3
    Hard Disk 500GB
CPU Type Intel Core i7 (720QM)
    GPU/VPU NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M (1 GB)
    Price: $1,279.99

**How are Sony Laptops in terms of performance ? , i am using Dell currently.

**Let me know of better deals than this.

    Thanks in advance.

Well at 1920x1080 will not be able to play many games with a 330M .

Nvidia once again is scamming with the renaming cards it's 46 cores when a older 260 gtx is 96 cores .

I have a G51J with the 260 gtx and can play fine mass effect 2 , aion and so on but not raise details to max or really high AA.
With a 330M sure will need lower near all setting to min possible

Best now for mobile is go for ati 5870 mobile or 5850, compared to the 330M we speak of doubling performances vs a 330M and 50% more than top nvidia mobile GPU.

This only can find on newegg with it : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220695

Was 1450 $ but all buying it for gaming so price skyrocketed to 1600 but will go back down when more on stock.

Like most asus top models it got backlight keyboard really nice if like use it in the dark.

    Great Advice. Thnx.

I have checked out the Asus Laptop with ATI 5870. Its a bit out of my range at the moment but will see.
I haven't got any previous experience with Asus Laptops. How are they compared to Sony or HP laptops ?

hmm.. 1.5 Hours is kind of low for battery life and i have electrical issue here. I have an IPS though, Do you know whats the total approx Watt requirement of that laptop ? (roughly)

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I have also searched on google very much but didnt find much i7 Laptops, seems like there are not many out there yet ( from good brands i mean ).
Do you know of any new models coming up in March 2010 ?

Nah, not necessarily from newegg. Anywhere in US would be fine and shpping within 5-7 days would be fine as well.
If you have better places in mind please let me know. And let me know of good stores to buy Laptop/PC stuffs.

    Thanks very much.

    Yeah, checked out the HPs.

I would like something with HD 5870, Core i7 1.6 is enough, 4GB/6GB RAM, 500GB HDD and 16" or higher screen is fine. I would like some suggestions without Asus ( i checked them already )

    Any suggestions guys ?
