Would it be possible for someone with the Sapphire 5870 Vapor-X Rev 2. (blue PCB) to provide a link to a BIOS dump?

I ask because my new Sapphire 5850 Toxic looks to have the same PCB and I'm hoping to be able to use the 5870s 1.125v stock voltage for a bit more OCing headroom.

Guys with Sapphire 5870 Vapor-X rev.2 can you post your temps on furmark, im just curios about the idle and load temps and the fan speed in load please. Mine is reaching around 82 C in Furmark and the fan is going to 60%. In games is between 55 and 70 C, depending on the game and the fan is not going more than 50% but is still audible.

Daliu - Although I just sold my VaporX 5870 I did try FurMark (well I actually used MSI's Kombuster but I think its very similar in the way it loads the GPU). My card's idle temp was between 28C-33C (with ambient temps between 20C-23C and with the stock fan speed settings). After 8min of running Kombuster (the temp didn't seem to increase after the first 5min) the temp maxed out at 66C-68C. The highest temp I noticed while gaming was 62C (again ambient room temps were between 20C-23C) while playing BFBC2. I should mention that I use a test-bench setup, no case. For the most part I think this helps keep temps down when compared to the same hardware in a case (but just my opinion). Although I didn't thoroughly test this increasing the card's fan speed (even a small amount) can make a positive difference, more so with load temps than with idle temps. Last but not least, I've owned an Antec P180 and although I really liked the case its certainly not the highest airflow case on the market and not very efficent at removing hot air and bringing in cool air (again just my opinion). Plus given the cases construction (layered metal and plastic) it tends to insulate the hot air inside and keep things hot. I imagine that your case is causing your somewhat higher than normal temps on the card (please let me know if your not actually using a P180).

Yes, thats the case and the ambient temp is a little higher on my place, maybe 26-28 C, i know that the first verion of Saphire 5870 Vapor-X was better in terms of heatingi have the second version, i hope is not a problem that my card hits 70-72 C maximum in games.

I don't think there is any problem with the card running at upwards of 72C, even for extended periods of time (the components should be capable of handling those temps). I mean my card is only running about 10C cooler and my setup is just about ideal given that I don't have a case to trap heat and my ambient temps are considerably lower. The only major drawback might be less overclocking headroom but if that isn't important to you than I wouldn't worry much.

I have one question, i have Saphire 5870 Vapor-X rev2 with blue pcb, the problem is i dont know how to overclock this card more than the limits from CCC, basically im stuck on 900 gpu and 1300 memory, i would like to try higher speeds for gpu but im not able cause i have that 900 mhz limit for gpu, i tried MSI Afterburner but im not allowed to rise anything more than 900 mhz for gpu, im rookie so if somebody can tell how can i do it?

Download RBE, run it, download the BIOS from the card, go onto the additional features tab, click on method 2 and increase the max clock to whatever you decide, then flash the BIOS onto the card
